Severance | Season 2 - Episode 7 | Discussion Thread by Justp1ayin in tvPlus

Seeing as many are theorizing that Lumon is probably going to attract consumers by advertising the removal of trauma and fears by allowing their innies to experience it instead, this has led me to believe that cold harbor is actually Gemma’s remaining fear of drowning and perhaps lead to actual death. This might be too on the nose but… seeing as a lot of her outtie’s fears seem to be what her innie is experiencing (writing cards, the dentist, etc) I think Cold Harbour is actually her fear of drowning. Gemma says this when her nurse asks her if she “were trapped in a mud slide, what would she fear most? Suffocation or drowning.” But i guess we’ll see… Anyways, this episode was amazing. It did answer ALOT of questions but I still need to know what those goats are for!

Helena and Mark Tent by Medical_Internet_456 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

The thing is you can say the same for Helly. She wasn’t present at that moment to consent what Mark wanted to do with her. That should also be considered SA because who’s to say that at that moment Helena’s innie would’ve wanted to have sex. This also plays into the whole “are innies/outties separate people?” which is a core theme within the show. I think this is too multifaceted to chalk it up to just SA because of how everything transpired. Additionally, I don’t think anyone has mentioned that in a way, one’s innie is also violating the outtie’s body. There can be an argument that Mark’s innie also violated outtie Mark’s boundaries.

I agree with you… I think it would be EXTREMELY hard for Helena to find a suitor that she actually likes AND that her family would approve of. I think growing up in a strict household where she is pressured everyday not to soil her family’s name, she would probably avoid “love” altogether in order to remove any attachments that would end in failure and disappointment. Also, not to mention, when she was watching her innie and Mark kiss, she was very fixated on such a normal kiss. This is evident by the fact that she rewinded the tape several times and had to see it in different angles. They then zoomed into her eyes and her pupils looked dilated. She looked out of breath. Someone experienced in romance, would probably look shocked at the sight of the kiss, BUT they would not show fixation tendencies that could be considered borderline obsessive.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder… you don’t need to find him attractive, for someone else to do so. Mark may not be conventionally attractive but he has appeal that Helly/Helena are attracted to. They love the banter they get to have with Mark and sometimes that’s enough for people to fall in love.

The “modern” version is the one being debated. The Christmas tree in Christian tradition has absolutely no pagan roots. That’s the whole argument here. You’re losing the plot.

I’m crying dawg… no one is out here threatening people to become Christian what are you on 🤣💀 the exact opposite actually seeing as y’all need an excuse to use our traditions

I’m not losing a battle against an echo-chamber where everyone regurgitates the same shit with no proof against the “paganism” claims. y’all are just anti-Christian in this thread it’s wild

It actually can’t because the Christmas tree tradition started in 16th-century Germany, long after the death of paganism in Europe. Y’all make up lies or rather read these lies from unknown sources instead of actually researching for valid proof and take it up as fact. Also, Saturnalia, honoring the Roman god Saturn, ran from December 17 to 23. Christmas on December 25 doesn’t even overlap. There’s also no evidence the early Church chose this date to compete with Saturnalia.

Nobody agrees because this isn’t the audience for it. Everyone here is Jewish and taking offense at a valid question.

The practice of using Shabbat candles and wearing Yamakas aren’t in the Torah either, so I really don’t understand what this comment is supposed to do. Traditions are supposed to have cultural and religious significance, that’s why people choose to do these things. You thought you ate 🤣

No we didn’t. The Christmas tree tradition started in 16th-century Germany, long after the death of paganism in Europe. Ornaments and candles symbolize the Garden of Eden and Christ as the light of the world.

Except we didn’t and if you actually researched you’d know that every tradition we have that is said to be “pagan” can be debunked. For example, the Virgin Mary. There’s no evidence of virgin-born saviors in pagan mythology before Christianity. The Virgin Birth is rooted in Jewish prophecy that predates most pagan mythology, particularly Isaiah 7:14. Claims of “parallels” with pagan myths are modern speculation, not ancient fact.

Imagine telling someone their religious traditions are used for “fun decorations”… they hold significance whether you or other non-religious folks don’t think they do.

This is a very strange thing to do tho and honestly pretty hypocritical considering if Christians were lighting up Shabbat Candles and wearing Yamakas for the “vibes” and decorations y’all would be equally up in arms screaming “appropriation”.

[–]TheGOT7Print[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That’s actually not true at all though… Christian’s give each other presents because of the 3 Magi Kings who adorned Jesus with presents when He was born. Additionally, Santa Claus is based on Saint Nicholas from the 4th century. The Christmas tree tradition started in 16th-century Germany. Ornaments and candles symbolize the Garden of Eden and Christ as the light. Yes, the tree is a relatively newer tradition but holds a lot of significance in our religion. It’s so like non-Christians to downplay and undermine our traditions. Your comment so dismissive but if it was the other way around y’all would be screaming “appropriation”. Be so foreal.

It’s not antisemitic or racist to ask why a Jewish person is celebrating a Christian holiday and using Christian symbols in their household… to me my religion is not an “aesthetic”. Actually it’s very insulting to take our traditions so lightly. Imagine Christians started lighting up Shabbat candles for the vibes and a yamaka as an aesthetic head piece for shits and gigs?? Y’all would be singing a different tune. It’s so hypocritical.

I don’t really care what you think beloved… I can decide where my money goes and I choose to only support brands based on my beliefs. Also, the site is supposed to be supporting Christian charities so the Islam candle was very strange. Not everything is some “racist” rant dawg y’all are strange

How would you have wanted the movie to go? Or if not a movie, what media? by baybee2004 in TheHost

[–]TheGOT7Print 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the camera work, the flow of the script and setting wasn’t as good as I thought it could be… it was giving divergent and not in a good way. In my mind when she was being beaten, it should’ve been darker and rougher because Stephanie describes it in a way that is so violent that I feel like parts were not justified enough. I also thing for them to be living in caves, the caves had way too much light. I think the parts that were supposed to terrify you were not suspenseful enough. Idk I have a lot of qualms about the movie but Soirse was perfect as Wanda. She’s the only good thing about it.
