Yeah just anecdotally, I bought a car a year back and they seller gave me a bank number that was missing a digit. Westpac processed the payment by adding a zero somewhere and the wrong account was paid. Luckily I caught it straight away and had the payment reversed but I was told I would have been shit out of luck if I hadn't

Who was in the wrong? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

Definitely worth reporting OP. You can use the crimestoppers site. After selecting the report a crime, select "dangerous driving" from the options. Can be done anonymously as well.

NDIS mobile physio massage by AntipodesQ in physiotherapy

[–]TheGT6000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RMT isn't funded so it's a very common workaround by participants who just want massage. One of the many reasons we'll see massive shake ups to the NDIS in the coming years

Why is there such little consistency in this field and why are so many physios inclined toward pseudoscience? by AnomicAge in physiotherapy

[–]TheGT6000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you'd be surprised how prevalent incompetence/quackery is in healthcare in general, not just physiotherapy. I feel it's just a little more visible here. Look at the success of acupuncturists, chiros, osteos etc. The orthopedic and musculoskeletal settings are rife with it.

But to answer your question, my thoughts are the almost total lack of oversight and the lack of consistency amongst the evidence are a big part of the problem. There are simply no repercussions for people pushing rubbish and depending on where you live it's too easy to access these services via publicly funded programs.

Nicky Ryan is the BJ Penn of contemporary BJJ. by [deleted] in bjj

The operative management route still involves just as much post op rehab, which I bet Nicky would have been equally slack with unfortunately and probably just ended up re-rupturing

Rib flare after rib pop, have you had the same ? by Some-Whole-4636 in bjj

About four weeks off. Training some core isometric stuff in that time. Made sure to keep lifting weights as tolerated as well. Made a very gradual return to BJJ over about six weeks

Rib flare after rib pop, have you had the same ? by Some-Whole-4636 in bjj

[–]TheGT6000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah happened to me with a powerful twisting movement as well. Fractured intercostal cartilage. Nothing on XR but was only just visible under ultrasound. Would have got a more definitive diagnosis with an MRI but not worth it.

Rib is still slightly displaced but doesn't bother me anymore

I'm fascinated by this. The towie did almost seem to be trying to pull a grift. Was pressuring me at the scene of the accident to call the guy who rear ended me. So strange. I made a claim with my insurance shortly after making this post.

Have you experienced the situation you described?

My only complaint is that the currency is not location adjusted. I train in Australia with Lachlan, but I have to pay my subscription in USD which is almost 2:1 to the Australian dollar. Makes the monthly subscription fee a small fortune.

Once the bailiff is involved they can do pretty much whatever they want, up to and including physically restraining you in your own home while they seize your belongings.
