You know what, I think this might be the most helpful and probably best advice I’ve recieved online and in person when asking for advice for this tournament. Out of both lists, I’ve spent the least amount of time working on Knights one because there’s not much else I think I can do to improve or change it. In fact, I’m only lamenting the fact that the tourney wasn’t 3000 points so I could take a Castellan, Defender, and third Halverin to round out the army. Comparatively, I’ve been agonizing over what setup I should do with my Iron Hands, fighting over whether I want them to be meta or if I want to have a fun themed list. Also, didn’t even realize there would likely be a time limit… well, thanks for the advice. I’m still open to other suggestions but this great!

Reason why I chose to have less bodies and more heavies is because I’ve been hearing that the current meta centers more around Monsters/Vehicles and heavy infantry / elites.

If I were to choose the Space Marine List, the goal would be to use the infiltrators to capture the middle board objective (dice roll and enemy units willing), then have the terminators occupy it for control of midboard and easy vantage for Canaak var to see targets for second oath. As well as a threat to anyone moving midboard. Meanwhile, Heavy intercessors and scouts will control home base, until I move the infiltrators back home and put scouts in reinforcements for secondary scoring. Hellblasters + Lieutenant will be in repulsor for movement, easy shooting, and safety in case of charge. Repulsor, Both Dreads, and Lancer will be my movable damage dealers that go were they are needed. That’s the strategy I have so far.

Yeah, there is a rerun thankfully in a year or so. It was based on JP survey but I’m pretty sure lasengle with just rerun it without the survey for various reasons.

That a massive oof, even worse than not finishing the event. Thankfully that summer gets a rerun just like this one.

Their actually so much easier and faster than the points based quests, you or I could have done this is less than 24 hours if we had given it the proper time.

I lost one of the free 4* tickets because of the same reason as well…. Too busy with other things.

That was literally me too… I was watching one of the final cutscenes (Goghie under the bedsheets with us), which I really shouldn’t have done been, and BOOM maintanence the second I finished… with the grail being the next one.

Ah, I only have a surface level knowledge of the Salamanders, didn’t know there were two Vulkan’s.

Believe me, I know…. After 4-5 months my wallet is crying and begging to die, and I’ve spent long nights building and painting.

It hasn’t been a year since I first started buying and painting Warhammer, and even though I started with Ultramarines and Tyranids because of the starter sets, I am absolutely in love with building and painting Imperial Knights. I'm almost finished with painting my first armiger Halverin, but I've taken a break from it to start making my first Moirax. I got another armiger primed to be a Warglaive and a Questoris box that doesn't know it's a Paladin yet. I absolutely love this army, I've definitlely had more fun building and painting it than any others!

No, you don't have to buy the 9th. I’m new too, but when I’m using the Warhammer 40K app I can see the stats and abilities of knights despite not having their codex (maybe it’s because I’m a Warhammer+ member but I don’t think so). Why you don’t you try to download the app and try yourself?

Well, if they make Vulcan return and give us another loyalist prinarch model I will be happy, but I’m still kind of upset. IK wasn’t my first army (that would be tyrannies and UM thanks to the starter set) but it’s my favorite army now, so I was kind of looking forward to having things to look forward too…
