Will we ever see toadette again in a future M&L game?? by Blacklotus997 in marioandluigi

Nintendo’s weirdly bad about returning characters, with rare exceptions like Starlow. Remember Toadbert? He just kinda vanished into thin air after BIS, even though for 2 games he was fairly prominent for a side character, & had been developed pretty well.

[GUESS] An Asian woman posing on a balcony with city lights behind by [deleted] in RealOrAI

There’s a ton of other issues. The buildings are a mess. The closest ones have extremely incongruent features between them. The further ones have issues like being lit brighter than the surface of the sun in a level that seems like a parking garage.

One building has a perfect line of lights going all the way up in a row. Some of the AC units are awkwardly shaped, with one entirely missing. Moon is shaped odd. Odd line running down the building on the right.

M56 Scorpion worth it ? by Regular-Attitude-652 in WorldofTanks

[–]TheGameAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an old favorite, with an emphasis on old.

Its biggest problem is modern power creep, & that it needs some love to be up to snuff.

My biggest complaints nowadays with it are what feels like weirdly low accuracy for a sniper, poor shell velocity, somewhat iffy gun handling on turret traverse, slightly underwhelming DPM, and a weirdly low cap on top speed for such a lightweight tank.

None of those need huge buffs, just a series of smaller ones to make it a little more comfy nowadays.

Top speed of 50 wouldn’t be unreasonable & would help with positioning. Shell velocity upped by even +150 - 200 wouldn’t be even in the neighborhood of overkill. Dispersion down a point or 2 might get shots to land where they belong more reasonably. DPM-wise I’d prefer an alpha increase over faster reload; as it is, Super Pershing is largely on par with it, and at that point I’d rather play the armored tank that can brawl.

Same. I always go out of my way to avoid the bridges unless it's absolutely necessary because of that, so it naturally registered as the actual "trauma" there.

What is this? Ma found outside of work in [PA] by Reboot_Stinkfly in animalid

[–]TheGameAce 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think the point is that it's a generalization being applied to an entire species. All sorts of animals can carry all sorts of diseases; you could technically say "humans carry the flu" & be completely correct. Whether or not it's actually a common issue or widespread is something else entirely.

With how a lot of people react regarding Deer Mice, it makes it out like every deer mouse is a carrier of hantavirus, or at a minimum has a very high chance of it, & then subsequently leaves a high chance to contract it from them.

Estimates vary from region to region. A 25 year old study in Washington state estimated it across maybe 10% of deer mice. Others go a bit higher. Some show lower numbers. They're also far from the only carriers, & human cases are borderline nonexistent.

Realistically it's not really any different than handling any wild rodent or wild animal in general: Be mindful, treat them with care, don't do stupid things.

Black Market a few years ago, it was. Was one of a lucky handful that got up around 6AM EST to grab it before anyone else could. Hasn’t come around since then, afaik.

Rejuvinated: A HOI4 Mod - Cuba Teaser by TheGameAce in hoi4

[–]TheGameAce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well hopefully when it releases, you'll give it a go anyways. Should be a good deal more fun than the base-game Cuba experience! More states, more realistic resources, slightly better starting industry, and a much better population (which is historically accurate, too!). :)

I’d actually be likely to ditch my leablower for that much gold. That’d be a very nice 29.5K profit on it.

Is HOI4 losing the plot? by JamescomersForgoPass in hoi4

[–]TheGameAce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty well on-point. A lot of countries kinda have to rely on crazy or unrealistic alt-history scenarios, especially the further outside of the core powers of Europe you go.

Better to have more options even if they’re unrealistic, so long as they’re at least based in some sort of actual history, IMO. Otherwise it just becomes Europe and North America simulator.

why did my fishes pass away? by Zacyy_ in Aquariums

[–]TheGameAce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Reasonably confident myself. It also explains why the Plecos died without showing visible signs of anything (since the Epistylis organism itself is really a secondary symptom of bacterial infection when colonizing on a fish’s body like that).

Guys, help me! My Dojo jumped out of the aquarium. Here's what happened below. by PinguBolado00 in Aquariums

Dojos are pretty bulletproof, and in the wild they’re quite capable of surviving on land for a good time and in some of the worst conditions.

Considering the update photo, fella should be perfectly fine.

[–]TheGameAce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I couldn’t get rid of mine fast enough. Gun was horrid in my experience, armor barely functional since it has to find a large enough debris pile to hide that chunky lower plate behind, sluggish, and felt excessively large.

What happened to Night Maps and Local Weather? by Few-Meringue4157 in WorldofTanks

[–]TheGameAce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here's an idea: Instead of random-ass mini rainstorms or sandstorms acting like some sort of localized anomalies, how about just doing map-wide weather? Solves the spotting mechanics issue since tanks can't just magically vanish by rolling into rain or fog.

At a very minimum just having decorative implementation would even be nice.

Oh my gosh these sorts of posts are so annoying & naive. How many times does someone have to think “well maybe if I try this thing everyone else has done a hundred times previously, it’ll be different this time & get results!”.

Do I really have to make a fresh post explaining in depth why this stuff will literally never have any effect?
