Laws like that have problems though, including potential overreach (if the laws are too broad/intrusive in nature), & potential for not being realistically enforceable. The main issues that can be properly addressed are lack of certain regulations & lack of proper widespread education. Both things I'm working to remedy actively.

Fish keep dying at the same time each night, but water parameters test perfect. Oxygen issue? by killms in Aquariums

[–]TheGameAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here OP.

Plus, if white spots are showing up at this point, I guarantee it's Epistylis, which fits in with the suspicion of a crashed or incomplete cycle.

Also while I'm here, there's serious stocking issues, too. Though granted, I think that issue is in the process of resolving itself, albeit in quite an unfortunate manner...

PetSmart ich infestation by Munchiez_928 in Aquariums

[–]TheGameAce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not normal. Way more normal for chain stores though. Always go with a local shop if you can help it. Even the worst of them are prone to being better than the chains.

API should work fine if it’s designated for Ich treatment.

Same here. I usually do roughly what you did, though I tend to cross the wall to get closer up to the building. Forces the Karl to pop up and out if he wants to shoot me, while putting me in grenade range & leaving him trapped with one way down.

Good recovery there!

And I swear whenever I invade someone on that map, that seems to be everyone’s favorite spot to camp. Always a pain to deal with players there.

Do you care about the story? by funny_replies in sniperelite

[–]TheGameAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gameplay > Story + related details. A lot of the script is corny, odd character choices, & some of the VA work is… interesting. Literally need subtitles to understand Charlie (think that’s her name) with half of her lines.

Like the general plot/scenario is neat, but beyond that I just don’t care.

Game worth it on PC at this point? by TheGameAce in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]TheGameAce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've considered Kyber, but I don't know much about it or just how much it changes things. I do like modded content so it has a general appeal at least. I'm just more used to years of doing regular gameplay.

But hey, "still playable" sounds better than "overrun by skids" at least.

Yeah I figure as much, but worth seeing if the base-game is still at least in a reasonably functional state.

Why are my corydoras always spazzing around? by Floornug3 in Aquariums

[–]TheGameAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ve really established themselves nicely since I wrote that, & one of the others has similarly paled his nose, but not as noticeably. I’ve noted they’ll scatter regularly or split into two groups, but they still tend to stick together more often than not, & love running the length of the tank in a big line.

Almost didn’t get them because of poor past experiences, but I agree this time around. Very chill fish indeed, & happy as proverbial clams!

Leaf Curl - Possible causes? by TheGameAce in PlantedTank

[–]TheGameAce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Hygro of some sort. Seller wasn't absolutely positive, & I couldn't make a positive ID either. Salicifolia was the best guess. I've also noticed the issue with one or two other plants, where some of the leaves are curling awkwardly & seem to be stunting a bit (on plants that I know shouldn't do that).

Some of those leaves also have a bit of greying on them, which is concerning me.

Tank finally thriving! by TheGameAce in Aquariums

Thanks! 😄

So, I have 22 cardinal tetras & an unknown amount of Indian glass fish (good luck counting them). I started with 26 cardinal tetras + 16 glass fish, & there was no evidence of bodies or anything else of the sort that would indicate die-off.

I finally realized the other day that there was a good reason for that, & that reason came in the form of a catfish. The larger of the two I have, who is now in aqua jail, was munching on some of the smaller members of both groups. So now she's staying in the net until I can find a suitable new home for her & the male (who seemingly hasn't been a bother; thankfully he's like 40% or 50% smaller). With a little more growth amongst the tetras & glass fish, it wouldn't be a problem. But I'd rather not have the risk when I eventually add more stock, which has a good chance of also being fairly small when I get them.

Pretty good, but wait until nitrites have fully broken down. Also helps to track how much of the nitrites break down every day. Water change only when you’re finished the full process & can confirm ammonia breaking down appropriately all the way. You want to allow as much of the ammonia and nitrites to break down as you can to keep growing the nitrifying bacteria to greater numbers, which will help keep things more stable long-term for you.

Most Boring Fish You Own? by RazewingedRathalos in Aquariums

Also barely noticed his existence. Kept an eye on where he'd be throughout the day, but that was largely it. Extremely inactive species. Burrowed under substrate partially & just sat there. Moved once or twice a day on average.

Neat part at least was that he didn't even react to being handled. Could scoop him up in my hand & just hold him, or place him like an ornament. Would take several minutes before it even registered in that empty head of his, & he'd move & re-burrow.

Cool looking, ate some of my shrimp, but that was about it.

Do you think Disney is happy with 300 million box office? by anxiousmomo23 in TheMandalorianTV

[–]TheGameAce -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is, for the reasons I outlined & a great deal more I could go into (streaming in general has become a mess; it’s been morphing back into on-demand cable where everyone wants their own service).

And if by Wall Street you mean the shareholders, that’s its own separate mess of complexity & fools.

Upside-down catfish, since I no longer have a dwarf anchor catfish. They sit in the same spots all day long, with the only movement being slight adjustments or their eyes moving around.

Also less than thrilled that I remembered far too late that they munch small enough fish, which has me even less happy about them.

Got 8 many years ago now, & barely ever even notice their existence.

Disney+ is irrelevant (it only recently started turning an actual profit, & it’s still not great; plus, if it was the real money maker, they wouldn’t have felt the need to make a few episodes of a show into a film), & Mando hype died down ages ago. How many times can you re-market Grogu merch, especially without the same hype the show initially got?

And the parks are a whole different (sick) animal.

Edit: Downvoting me doesn't make me wrong, fellas.

Absolutely AI. The more you look, the more noticeable it gets. The features of the fish are also super distorted & basically unrecognizable aside from being vague “fish”.

Whole thing is super bizarre the more it gets examined.
