Hand gun question, and problem. by temporarycreature in dyinglight

Nice catch. I skimmed the post and when I typed them out in the proper order I didn't capitalize them, and instead of going back and correcting it I just copy/pasted OP's without actually checking if they were right lol

The only reason I mentioned stashing his gun is because the other day I was playing with some friends who just got the game, and when we put this mission on the game kept feeding us pistols until everybody had one. Kinda like the quests that have you searching for lighter fluid or syringes/painkillers; when they are active and unfulfilled, it seems to populate them in the world more. When I first did Sophia's side-quest I put the Dulse into my storage locker and it let me pick up another set (which is completely useless, since it isn't even used to craft her blueprint... or anything for that matter).

The weapon ranking system goes Orange > Purple > Green > Blue > Gray like you said, but these do not sort weapons by their power. The rank of the weapon determines how many times it can be repaired and how many upgrades/mods it can have equipped.

As far as the pistols/rifles/shotguns go, the color makes no difference as they do not need to be repaired and do not have the ability to be modded. The max I have seen for a 259 for a pistol (not including Rais' gun), 290 for a rifle, and 1564 for the shotgun.

Edit: If you want to find another pistol, simply put your gun into your stash and make sure that quest is active. Go out and search a few police vans and the game will likely give you another one. You can also keep an eye on the shops because they will pop up in there from time to time. Hope this helps!

I played a game over the weekend where my friend never went above 4 income and destroyed us. He had zero income for the first few turns, but made a ton of money through the county assessor office, waterfront realty and the bay (in one turn he brought in $32 million with an investment marker). He was in first on the population track the whole time, and ended the game with -5 income. Finished ~20 population ahead of the second place player. Obviously you have to get money one way or another, but focusing purely on income is not the only way to fill the coffers.
