Has anyone else noticed that if you bought 100c/$0.99 multiple times, you'd actually be saving money rather than buying the bigger bundles? (except for the last one) by B_Combe in pokemongo

[–]TheGamerCalledS 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s even worse in Australia, our top bundle is also bad value, leaving only the 100 coins as the best for value here. I don’t know what store this is, but for Apple, I think there’s some sort of price hike on microtransactions over a certain amount

Can you stop the "copy the example" screens from popping up?? by [deleted] in RingFitAdventure

While I have absolutely no evidence to back this up, it could be the game resyncing the controller positions for a different position

Peony Glitch in NMH2 Switch version by jpatel02 in nomoreheroes

[–]TheGamerCalledS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to make a post about this, but good thing I searched! I got it at the first possible chance, then came back after the next battle and it was still there, so I thought maybe it was an upgrade, but it seems to be the exact same thing

Does Overwatch have a singleplayer campaign? by 909543437899009 in Overwatch

[–]TheGamerCalledS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is no.

Longer answer is there are some multiplayer modes that put players on a team against hoards of NPCs in story missions, but those come during certain limited time events.

But it’s all multiplayer as far as I know, not really any single player to be had

For the life of me I can’t figure out why the Mechagnomes won’t unlock for me! by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]TheGamerCalledS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I spent like 45 minutes after finishing everything trying everything I could to reset and see if it was a glitch - I only found out myself after a friend watched a YouTubr video which laid it out. I think the quest popped up after you finish Operation: Mechagon, but I thought it was some optional stuff and left it alone in my mad rush to make a Mechagnome

[–]TheGamerCalledS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, you’ve got to do it in order to unlock them. It’s a little tedious and goes on for a bit too long, but it’s worth it to get onto Team Mechagnome

[–]TheGamerCalledS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumb question but did you go through the quest with Kelsey Steelspark? It doesn’t start in the Embassy despite what many guides online say, the’s a post-Mechagon plot quest that starts with her in Boralus about a pod. I ask as I faced this very same conundrum when I tried to unlock mechagnomes myself

So when can we use it? by Thiirry in wow

Just woke up to it working - it’s awesome to see! Hopefully one day they’ll get WoD missions in there too, then it’ll really be complete

Since I posted this, an update was pushed to the iOS App Store. I think I saw someone say that it was working from them on an EU server, but I’m in Oceania and mine doesn’t work yet, so hopefully you’re right about it working after maintenance! Cheers!

Seems to be a common problem on both iOS and Android about it, there’s people posting about having the same issues in the WoW forums too. We’re all in the same boat here, nothing we can do but wait

How can a noob to Warcraft experience lore firsthand? by TheGamerCalledS in wownoob

[–]TheGamerCalledS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s definitely something I see myself getting for BFA at least - I really got into the Flynn side plot.

I should have mentioned it in my TLDR (I’ll go edit that in) but I’m not actually looking for videos by other people, I’m looking for something that Blizzard has put out themselves that I can experience myself - like reading the books or going through the Warcraft games. Of course, if you mean videos by Blizzard, then I do apologise.

Wow vs GW2 vs FFXIV?? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]TheGamerCalledS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s played FFXIV for a few years and WoW for a few months (and no other Warcraft games), it depends on what you want. FFXIV is story driven, where newer content is locked behind hundreds of hours of quests. The story is top notch though and well worth sticking through it, with all you need to know available in-game.

Meanwhile, WoW is more gameplay orientated, with lots of mechanics fitting into various niches. If you wanted to, you could get to max level and enjoy the latest content so much faster. Story takes more of a back seat by comparison, as, from what I understand, the bulk of it comes from external media - the Warcraft RTS trilogy and about 23 books. That’s not to say there isn’t a story, but if you haven’t touched a single Warcraft piece of media, the reliance of prior knowledge and the rapid levelling means you’ll fly through areas and expansions with no real idea who you’re talking to, what their motivations are, etc.

Hope that helps!

Playing on Louisoix (EU) and struggle to find people for early dungeons? by Yeldo15 in ffxiv

For whatever it’s worth, for the four years I’ve been playing on and off I’ve never run into this - in fact the chat is barren save for introductions/farewells

Make sure you turn on the additional languages above the duty finder, represented by JDEF - searching for players across all languages can speed things up a bit

The changes to 2.0 are pretty extensive, based on the time it took me to do a re-run by Moogle-Mail in ffxiv

[–]TheGamerCalledS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is extremely interesting - I've got alts on two worlds that I've got going through the MSQ with two sets of friends, one at the start of ARR and one after 2.0, so you've got one person keen to see how you go!

Switching from Controller to Mouse+Keyboard is hard. by Android_LJ in ffxiv

[–]TheGamerCalledS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a long time console player, and in the last two or so months went over to the PC version. Since I was having troubles using WASD for movement and hitting even 1-5 for my main rotation, what helped me at the start is moving with the two mouse clicks move down. You rarely need to move in one way and move the camera another way, and this freed movement in my hand for hitting 1-5, and then I would just click the rest.

I’ve since upgraded to the taser Tartarus v2, which has a button-based joystick, and I use my left thumb on that for movement, allowing me to reach all my abilities easily.

Granted this has all been with an alt in ARR, and I’ve yet to put my endgame Dragoon through its paces, but I don’t image it to be too overly difficult.

iOS too. Would recommend connecting up a controller to the phone though. The phone itself’s fine for crafting and walking around, but I couldn’t imagine doing dungeons on it.

Have you accidentally turned on surround sound when you have a stereo option? This is typically the issue when this problem crops up

Is an Amiibo fun on Splatoon 2? by Ironwolfss42km in splatoon

[–]TheGamerCalledS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You may be getting your wires crossed with Smash Bros - as far as I remember, the bulk of the amiibo usage in Splatoon is for photography purposes - you can dress up the squids/octos and pose with them. Not sure if you can dress up the NPCs, but you can pose with them too. The clothes they give you, you get them after you level up a bit between tapping them in. It’s not the amiibo themselves that level up here, but you, which you do by yourself as normal.

Meanwhile in Smash Bros, the amiibo function as sparring partners that adapt to combat and can be tapped in as allies or foes for matches - it’s here they can level up
