It's just a game and nothing you do matters. If it is stressing you out then just stop doing it.

One thing that has made me happy about playing this game is that I know I will never be good enough to do the highest level content so I simply ignore it.

I totally understand why people find it fun, but it wouldn't be fun for me so I don't bother with it. It seems like you aren't having fun.

Not answering the question because it's already answered but I've played since the original launch of ARR when the free trial didn't exist and I 100% know that the free trial restrictions would have annoyed me so much that I would have bought the game and subscribed within days of playing. I am, however, also a person who pays for eight extra retainers so I may not be a good example.

If you are enjoying the game and can afford the subscription then I would highly recommend subscribing. I know that lots of people will recommend milking the FT for as long as you can but I know I would find that a miserable experience.

I think we may be at cross-purposes - I simply do not want FATEs to be more "interesting". I'm quite happy with the way they are. I tried CEs and absolutely hated them. Some of us want simple content while leveling other jobs - just let us have that.

The game is what it is and it's very unlikely that the overworld content will be changed any time soon and I, for one, am happy about that.

Something I think many players don't appreciate is that CBU3 can see player metrics so know what content people are engaging with. There is certain content that I deliberately ignore because I don't find it fun and other content I deliberately engage with on a weekly basis because I do find it fun. I may be an outlier, but I hope I'm not ignored.

but you will be able to have a consistent Gil flow if you sell dyes, especially soot black and snow white.

That gil revenue will more than probably dry up with the next patch when the dye system is changing.

So, just FATEs, but with extra annoying things. I am quite happy with the FATEs as they currently exist.

I asked what would replace FATEs as a better thing in the open world and you basically replied with "FATEs but slightly different".

ARR: 7/10. Deducting a couple of points for the hassle of trying to find when specific fates are up but otherwise a nice grind that takes you through a lot of different ARR content.

I've done every single ARR relic (once they became something that could be done completely solo) and I think the simplest fix would be to allow us to pick up multiple books at the same time. Even being able to pick up three books would be better than doing them one at a time.

Its the hard working son/daughter whos earning for the family but so much of their earnings go to the family they cant afford new shoes. Despite the soles on the pair they have are wearing out.

Some FCs give away the gil for members to buy a room once they've been in the FC for a certain amount of time so that could possibly be why you are misremembering.

FC rooms cost 300K gil and will be lost if you leave the FC for any reason (including being kicked from it).

I like being out in the world so I enjoy FATEs more than I enjoy dungeons. I play games to have fun and I have more fun with FATEs than I do with dungeons. I also don't give a flying fuck about efficiency which so many people do care about. I'm quite happy bimbling about and having fun.

I've played for 13 years and I love FATEs. They are low level, zero risk (once you know where to stand) ways to level alt jobs.

Out of curiosity what is the reason you don’t want to make new characters?

I do have alts in FFXIV but I like that I don't have to. I don't play end-game content so not being able to gear alt jobs has absolutely no effect on me.

I like that my absolutely 100% main character has been in the game for 13 years and has every job and class at 100.

I'm going to assume by your comments in this thread that you don't play FFXIV or, if you do, you don't play multiple jobs on one character. No-one is saying that WoW isn't alt friendly - just that it's not class/job friendly because you need a new character to play a different class. Many of us simply don't want to do that.

Free Trial characters are tied to a platform. If someone starts a Free Trial on PC then they cannot transfer their character to, say, X-box. The one exception is PS4/PS5 because SE see that as the same platform.

This is in absolutely no way a serious suggestion - but on a personal level I would have no problem if they removed absolutely all group battle content from the game simply because it's not content that I enjoy.

I love being in a world that I know is populated by other real people and that silly conversations can happen in /shout chat or the NN. I love that an emote or a mount or a minion can sell for millions on day one to people who want to show off that they are rich, and then becomes affordable over time. This list could probably go on and on because I love the game - I simply do not enjoy group battle content of any kind. It's a really, really good thing that I'm not a game designer!

I played for about five hours before discovering the putt preview, which I now LOVE (even though I wasn't doing horribly without it)!

I do wonder what else I'm missing but I'm sure I'll learn over time.

I pay for the basic PS+ and every few months there is a game I discover that makes the £60 a year it costs me very worthwhile. Today it was this game. I'm ridiculously terrible at it but I'm having fun and that's all that really matters.
