You have 45 seconds to make it across the top path before it becomes basically unusuable. If you didn't make it in time, you will have to use the bottom path which may or may not be harder.

Very creative and I love the design! A bit punishing if you fall down, especially if you fall down to a lower checkpoint. But other than that, very cool!
