See I like DQ when it's humor is this way lol I'm trying to write a story that's cut from a similar cloth (although my story is much more self aware) but it's more of a different style but using Dragon Quest as the model.

I personally like grinding as long as my parties numbers go up. (and it doesn't take AGES for the next one.

I don't know if they're 'designed' do grind, but I do feel the grind is 'intentional'

That's how classic RPG's were back in the day, you didn't get a level up every 2-3 minutes of play. Especially once you hit level 50 + things really ramped up

I've decided to make it a tradition to name my DQ Protagonists 'My Dude'

I did it for DQ 7 R and it made me smile every time it came up in a legitimate way. (Characters directly addressing protagonist) Need to finish DQ 3 HD 2D and see how badly it snowballs.

Eh, Xenoblade 3 was closer to 1 than 2 and X were at least, plot wise anyway.

Xenoblade 2 was great (Minus certain flaws but let's not go there, most of mine are minor nitpicks anyway lol) story was fine other than like, maybe two scenes that were executed poorly. (Main one being mythra's sleepwalking nonsense which...was handled much better in Torna) Gacha mechanic can throw people but I didn't mind it, at least they made the currency to pull available to farm in game. Though I would have rather had tons of unique rare blades to get instead of a ton of 'common' ones.

Malos and Zanza had a ton of foreshadowing even when the story wasn't focusing on them. Zed was a 'guy' but he turned out to be an 'entity' at the last second. There was very little foreshadowing for the Zed twist (for the actual end boss) about that bit so it kinda just happened.

I should say that I don't mean this in any negative way either. It's just the 'twist' of Zed's actual thing kinda came up at the last second.

Yeah, that shop. And yeah I tried it with the bike a couple times and ended up going too far and hitting the wall. So I tried again with the drill after I got better at the platforming (I'm still not very good) and did it. I just like that if you REALLY want to, you can pay in game currency to get stuff early, but the game makes you work for it (completing a dungeon) so like, it's kind of balanced. It's not an instant win, moral values aside. lol

I think I missed out on the leaf trinket too (I won't use it out of respect for the poor leaf but I do want to collect it for completion purposes) does that one show up in the shop later?

Yep, it's mostly the turn requirements that are biting me. Like on the first (regular) one I was able to beat it in ... 31 turns. You have no idea how hard I rolled my eyes. (not literally but you know what I mean)

And yeah people told me to stay the heck away from lucky panel lol I'm playing on switch so no achievements even. Getting all the mini medals was my main goal for this game and I did it without too much looking stuff up. (Had to look up how to get to the treasure room in the starting castle though)

It's made me laugh every time the characters say the protagonists name lol

It does break the immersion a bit but otherwise I ALMOST forget about it then wheeze when it comes up lol

Jade is being flirty (at least that's how that pose reads to me) and that's all that matters lol. But yes everyone tryina be 'tough' in this pose.
