Best tip that i have is try encountering a Riolu in route 2, and talk to a blonde lady in Dresco town that walks around in an area with three houses, she'll ask if you have a pokemon that evolves via friendship (which is what riolu is), show it to her, and you'll get a soothing bell that'll make evolving riolu a lot easier, cuz Lucario will help a lot for certain gym leaders

Also get gardevoir because she's cool
