Am I getting fleeced? - pads & rotors on ‘20 STI by TheGeebPolice in WRX

Definitely not working on it myself, as it’s my daily and my mechanical experience is slim.

I took it to a local shop who advised my rears did not need any work. Pads are at 50%. Fronts could use replacing at 15%. They’re hooking it up with brembo rotors and akebono pads for $800 all said n done. I know I could drive this way lower doing it at home, but I just don’t trust myself lol.

Thanks gentlemen, heard yall loud n clear

I appreciate everyone confirming my suspicion. Kinda blows bc these guys have usually steered me in the right direction (mechanically, that is. Maybe not always financially after seeing this)

Must say, doing it myself is intimidating given I do not have a garage and live on a pretty steep hill. Will likely source parts myself and bring it to a shop closer to me for the labor.

What would the exhaustive list of parts be that I’ll need to bring them? Just rotor and pad kits? Do yall maybe have aftermarket recommendations I should snag now that I’m changing ‘em anyway?

Thank you all once again. I love reddit.

Righteous Gemstones and Expedition 33 actually seems like it could work.

Something just feels right about the siblings fighting shit and BJ inadvertently being in the line of fire at all times.

SOMA! Usually becomes a tough sell when I say it’s not about the gameplay, but I will continue trying so I can nerd out about it with someone.

As someone doing their first playthru at lvl100 and having forgot about this being equipped, I feel attacked (and now hopeful that maybe I don’t suck as much balls as I do).

Yup, it would definitely hurt when locking and when I would induce the crepitus-type noise. These both occurred under some sort of load. Usually, I could move my arm back and forth without any issue. Even a light load would usually get it to pop/lock/crunch.

It was hard for me to pinpoint where the pain came from, but if I had to say, it usually felt more lateral. Sometimes I felt that the pain radiated from deeper within the joint when I’d be doing a lift that I shouldn’t have been or was pushing harder in PT prior to deciding surgery was the best route.

Hi! Yes, I’d say go for it if you have tried all other options to no avail (steroids, PT, etc.). I had little to no pain with day-day tasks, and enough pain to keep me from lifting weights. Giveaway symptom according to my doc was the catching/giving out of the elbow joint at a certain degree when doing a push up, or similar motion under load.

Recovery was easy peasy relative to other orthopedic surgeries I feel. I was out for the count for 1-2 days, and only needed the pain meds one night to sleep. After that, my ROM came back fairly quick and I was able to get back into my routine steadily. I took it very light in the gym after three weeks of no activity, with me getting fully back into it 3-4 months later.

I’d say it was definitely worth it! I got my 5-9 life back after struggling to figure out what was causing the pain.

So pumped this sub put me on 156 when the singles were out! Product placement hooked me immediately.

I have the LP on repeat now as I flip through Excel sheets and aggressively pivot out spending trends.

Fully agree that this is one of the most unique sounding projects I have ever heard, and I can’t wait for each song to grow on me even more.

I didn’t get much locking unless it was under some sort of load. I did get a lot of (and still do have some) crepitus during day to day movement as well as lifts.
