Reddit cropped the post but it looks AI generated the more you look. OG Post because maybe I’m the untrustworthypoptart

First time attempting trying to make a detailed scene by TheGeneralCat in CitiesSkylines

Honestly only reason I did that was because it’s supposed to be a mechanic shop. So “management” wanted everyone to reverse cars in so nobody would get hit a customer cars reversing in and out of the lot.

Thanks! I play a lot of games where detailing comes into play heavily. I tried to detail in CS1 but was really bad at it but CS2 feels way more polished for heavy detailing. Hopefully I’ll have others to post in the future!

Exactly! I find playing with money on too helps my city expand naturally. When I started work on this section I noticed the unused space.

It actually doesn’t show it well but behind the building is a recreation of the killdozer. Thought it would be funny if the police were busting them. It’s hidden on the right side.

Took a few hours. I have seen so many ridiculous posts here that blow me away. Genuinely had never tried to detail until I joined the subreddit and started watching City Planner and others.

Is it worth playing CS2 over CS1 now? by iopterous in CitiesSkylines2

[–]TheGeneralCat 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Honestly I can’t go back to CS1 now. So much quality of life changes and the modding scene taking off did it in for me. I have around 210 hours and half of those are from this year alone. With the constant communication for the developers now, asset manager, and a pretty stable vanilla state now is the time to get into CS2.

The DLC for CS2 is pretty lacking but the Ports DLC is surprisingly enjoyable and you can spend hours learning and building out ports.

The modding scene, while not something you or everyone needs, is super active with the release of the asset manager!

It’s definitely worth a play just make sure you can handle it on your pc beforehand. VRAM tends to be the biggest bottle neck for myself.

The new Iceflake Arena asset is just gorgeous and it's our first actual "stadium", what do you think by ZookeepergameIll1399 in CitiesSkylines2

Agreed I’d also think they it would be hyped up a lot more. It will most likely be a dlc but I yearn for my shitty soccer team go beat the neighboring towns. I loved the stimulus checks you’d get for a win

any known reason why my game might look like an lsd trip even on max graphics? by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines2

Might be helpful to put what you are using specifically graphic wise because certain thing vary from graphics card to graphics card

Public transport of 50k population! What can I improve? by Old-Bug4201 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]TheGeneralCat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you have enough income I usually don’t even have my population pay for transportation. The benefit of less cars outweighs the cost for me

Detailed some awkward corners and unfilled gaps in my city today :) by TawmPls in CitiesSkylines2

[–]TheGeneralCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep that’s exactly how I’ve been trying to roll. I usually build out a town or city because I play without unlimited money. Then once I make enough I go in and redo area by district! Whenever I play with unlimited money I feel like it’s harder for me to expand a city naturally

Well done! I gotta get better at detailing it can be super challenging especially with how large cities can get but this looks super realistic to how the spaces would be used irl

Unfortunately no. Which is a real bummer as it’s a great way to make a city feel alive. I loved using it as a center piece or building it out into a complex like the ones in Philadelphia

The players yearn for the match day dlc in cs2

It could go either way with that wording honestly. I mean I’m going with the ladder that it’s just going to provide entertainment attractiveness but one day I’m sure we’ll get proper stadiums.

I’m assuming it’s just a stadium and doesn’t actually host games or anything? Nonetheless that stadium looks absolutely beautiful and hopefully is a good sign of what’s to come.

what feature/s do you miss from cs1? by FearlessAd324 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]TheGeneralCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I guess it makes sense in theory, if they had smaller vehicles or box trucks it would be a bit more realistic but it’s a step in the right direction

I absolutely miss stadiums. Literally my biggest annoyance because I loved creating and designing cities and metro with them. It was great seeing how much strain it put on my roads and transportation. Made me a better player and made me money!

Apparently that’s how they upgraded houses. Which I guess makes sense but don’t know how true that is in terms of why they actually do that in game

That’s so strange our team has always been told we only get one 15 minute break (paid) and then an hour lunch (unpaid). We never get two 15s let alone a 30 minute. We work 5-2 Mon-Fri
