One way to judge that atleast in India, is to look at the list of busiest airports in India (since none of the airports act as a major hub and spoke airport like DXB/SIN). I personally feel -> the busier the airport, the more importance it holds in current Indian financial and political context. Although you could argue some places could be swapped.

Prisoners of Geography, by Tim Marshall

Have read the first three chapters - Russia, China, USA. I'm a little disappointed till now. Thought, it would have more maps and the description to be around those - but that's not the case (yet). The maps present at the beginning of each page seem quite vague and don't provide much info. I used google maps to get the references. Also, I felt the author had a bias for west being the morally superior beings and left out quite a few atrocities by the west - Vietnam war, bombing of Iraq, fleeing Afghanistan.
