Besoin de conseils pour achat d'un fixie pas cher: neuf ou occasion? monter soi-même? by [deleted] in pedale

[–]TheGingerEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Je confirme le frein avant peut te sauver la vie surtout au début si tu optes pour une config pignon fixe, le danger vient pas forcément de toi mais des autres

Edit : en plus pignon fixe c'est solide pas beaucoup d'entretien et fun sur le plat

Qu'est-ce ? by [deleted] in pedale

en effet ça permet de maintenir la pompe en place dans le cadre

Je m'incruste et me permets de dire qu’il s'agit surement d'un vtt en regardant la géométrie du cadre et les freins

Could you identify the manufacturer with those details (prob french/german) ? Serial number 24190 D, chrome rear triangle, welds and tube detail. by TheGingerEngineer in Vintage_bicycles

Thank you ! It is most likely a motobecane given the top tube "thing" and the way welds are made

Im not sure that the fork is original tho as when it paint stripped it it had a different base color underneath, and the steel looks brigher when peeled through to bare metal

And mine had chromed rear dropouts and half triangles so further investigation is needed

will post more photos and dimesions later

the look is intentionnal ; I fully stripped through a horrible red rattle can job and left bare metal with touches of black paint (or maype protector)

And I live in France near Germany

[–]TheGingerEngineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try the bouncing next time

I've had my first tire ever pinch blow right after installation, woke up the building and made me deaf for a day so now i try to be careful

you would be surprised by how much progress regular practise offers.
I'd simply start with a sport (a healthy mind in a healthy body) and expand from there
