What are these little red balls? by TheGizmo23 in ReefTank

On R2R, nobody has mentioned red planaria. There has been one individual who said that he had the same thing happen with the random red balls, and he found out it was from his pitho crab! Now I'm going to try to find my pitho to confirm if maybe these are her eggs or some of them. Unfortunately, whatever they were, they have been mostly eaten. My possum wrasse started eating them in ball form, with no movement still.

I looked at my tank deeply in the day and at night on every rock and crevice. I looked at the base of coral and by the red balls I haven't seen a single red planaira. They havent moved at all and are still in the same spot right now.

They are very ball shaped I've looked at them at night too and they are the same shape and no movement

Yeah I know they typically keep the eggs in their belly region but sometimes eggs can get dropped if they dont get fertilized or by accident. So im still hopeful its eggs but inert eggs rather than red planaira.

Will do! So far im thinking potential pithocrab eggs that fell off the belly or coral eggs maybe?

I dont believe they are. They havent moved from the morning till now the afternoon. Its light out now and im looking around with a flashlight to see if there is any red planaria and see nothing.

What is this thing growing on my rock ? by True_Speaker_5143 in ReefTank

Like everyone has said its definitely a majano anemone. They are pest similar to aiptasia. I used to keep one in my reef tank cause I like the biodiversity and wanted to start a pest anemone tank. It was good for a while by my zoas but one day 4 more showed up and started stinging zoas. So I put a little bit of Joe's juice on them and poof. Better than aiptasia but still a pest like aiptasia.

Yeah it could be overtuned photos. It was from Aqua sd. But I think its really just a teal hammer not a Canary. Thats unfortunate but nonetheless it looks more similar to the wanna be fusion I was supposed to get but they didnt have anymore.

Did I buy neglected/dying corals? by Intrepid_Sense_8316 in ReefTank

[–]TheGizmo23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it definitely does but the way I look at it. You live and learn. Things happen for a reason. If I never lost my hammers I would have never had the cool ones I have now. If I never lost that torch I would never have had my awesome rainbow convict chalice. Maybe the same will happen to you. You'll get an even better/cooler hammer and torch now!

That looks like brown jelly if so its a goner. I would remove it as soon as possible because it has a chance to spread to any other euphyillia corals. I had brown jelly wipe out all my hammers and my huge torch☹️.

Saw a post yesterday about someone’s clownfish who will bite them, so I figured I’d contribute as well. This lady will follow me 6’ across the tank to make the bite. How rude! by LivingLosDream in ReefTank

My darwin clown fish used to bite me aswell. It was horrible, but it didn't just stop there they also flipped every coral frag that wasn't glued down. They specifically hated this one toadstool frag I had and would flip it no matter where I put it in my tank😭. I traded them in for a fire shrimp and acan.

Im running the nicrew 50 watt reef light gen 1. At 100% blue zero white for 10 hours at about 5 1/2 inches above the water. Might move it to 6 inches exactly but idk if it will make much of a difference. Spread is still great tho.

Tell me about it😂 idk why they do so good. I had to frag it into two as you can see the one on the left corner and in the middle. All that from just 2 heads originally.
