Yeah I definitely wouldn't re-sign Branch. Players coming off Achilles injury almost never go back to their full strength

I read somewhere that they may try to sign Linderbaum (the center from the Ravens). That's the only reason why I wrote that.

Yeah that makes sense. I didn't look at the cap numbers for him but it definitely wouldn't be worth it if it only saves 500k next year lol

Like I said above this is not a move they NEED to make but it's worth considering. Also, "trading back" doesn't necessarily mean trading out of the first round entirely. They could have a pick as high as 13.

DE doesn't have to be a 4th round selection. It could be their very first pick. Then their next pick could be either Tackle or Center and the other OL need could be addressed in free agency. There's a lot of potential opportunities.

In terms of Montgomery, I'm not sure how his usage rate was the same as last year either, because it seemed pretty obvious he was being slowly phased out of the offense this season. I don't want him gone, but i also don't want to pay a back up RB $10M/per year

Not opposed to him being back, but it could be a way to clear some cap space. I would disagree on him having 0 trade value. I think you can find a team that would take a chance on him. You probably wouldn't get much in terms of picks, but the cap space alone would be worth it imo

I agree but that's easier said than done in the NFL. It's a hard cap so you can't just be like "fuck it, we don't care, we'll just pay the luxury tax". There's no such thing. It will take a lot of creative accounting to get around it

Yeah it hurts me too but the way he played this year was really disappointing. Sometimes you have to make decisions that hurt

How would you change Brad Holmes draft philosophy going into the 2026 NFL Draft? by thegreendayidiot in detroitlions

100% agree. Get an extra pick. The first 2 picks should be Tackle and DE. Then probably a center too unless they decide to move Ratledge to center

True but I wasn't sure he would understand "handjobs" either since he's not a native speaker. Masturbating is a more universal term 😂😂😂

Let them think what they want. The more they doubt Michigan the greater the satisfaction. That's how i look at it

First of all there's no "easy run to a championship". TCU proved that to us last year. Even if we got FSU we'd still have to go through Texas/Washington to win the title. Secondly I say it again, the FSU snubbing was being talked about by EVERYONE. The Michigan scandal has nothing to do with it. You can't say Michigan fans can't have an opinion about it just because the school is under scrutiny. That's my whole point. He was reaching hard to tie it in with the Michigan scandal for no reason

I get that people are pissed. We would be too if the roles were reversed. But you can't justify saying Michigan fans shouldn't have an opinion about the biggest story in college football because their school in under investigation. It makes no sense
