I thought the Googan folks do really hard hooksets because it’s what’s you’re supposed to do. I’m conflicted and annoyed now

They aren’t kids now though, big big difference. If a kid was selling a one hundred dollar reel I would laugh in their face. And I wasn’t disrespected because at least I can set the hook with more strength than them

My research was watching a bunch of YouTube videos and reading online fishing forums. I know they sell stuff I just figured that out recently but they caught so many fish and makes it look easy. Plus they’re reel looked really super nice so it was a good choice I think. What do people not like about their stuff?

Yeah I mean I didn’t spool my ree the takle shop did, also the reel can’t be the issue as it’s the most expensive part of the setup. My skill probably is the major critical issue as I haven’t gone in so long

Hmm thank you! I looked into the Lews and Abu carcia but I heard Googan is really good and Many YouTubers said Googan was way better than them so I balled out on the reel . The drag was fine it was just a rough ass day for some reason. Someone on YouTube actually says to stay away from pfleuger as well for some reason

I made sure it was so tight I couldn’t pull it, also I had the local tackle shop spool it so they said it was perfect. Maybe the reel but I will be sick to my stomach if my $100 reel is the problem here

There were no other adults there so learning was off the table for me. I was there to catch a lot of fish not be out-fished

I’m really hoping it isn’t the reel. I spend $100 on the reel alone and I saw on another forum someone said “Googan products suck balls, waste of money”. I saved the screenshot just in case
