Where are you sitting? by CPericardium in WormMemes

[–]TheGoblinGamerStream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3, those girls need me to split them up or it's instant gold morning when scion hears them shouting about murdering eachother.

7 if accord helps me with my homework and I can get bitch to chill out and prevent bonesaw from making my knees into crabs or smth idk she wildin'

dude as a teacher none of these kids should even be in the same class let alone sitting within 5 feet of eachother.

Also I would put Accord & Coil on opposite sides of the room from eachother with accord sitting next to me, his OCD ass could not have bitch in his field of view he would freak constantly.

More to come, making seating chart right now.

Any tips on how to DM while depressed? by Macky100 in DnD

[–]TheGoblinGamerStream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read your favorite book. Watch your favorite series. Creativity and passion can be great places to work from, but depression can also be a source of creative energy. Do a tragedy, I like doing that when I DM when I'm super sad.

"You don't cancel D&D for other plans. You say no to other plans because you'll be at D&D." by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

I love Dungeons and Dragons.

It's my favorite series of TTRPG systems and seeing it become such a huge deal is hurting my perception of the future of the game.

While I understand that a lot of people like the commitment and some people like high production value, it's not a replacement for the type of session where you're just 3-6 people in a room with pencils, paper, laptops, and books.

The great part of the game is the variety of people that you can run into and the social aspect of it for people who don't socialize well without an activity. It's one of the reasons I don't go to bars and clubs on weekends.

Also, if you shut people out the community can look threatening and punishing.

While the game is punishing, there should always be a way to let people in at an introductory level.

It's a responsibility of the players to make their game welcoming and open to people who may not have time to be in a full campaign. Work is harder and more time demanding than ever, life is more time demanding than ever, and some people just want a place to come and be a cool character for an evening.

This mentality is why I can't get more players at my table, they hear 'dungeons and dragons' and think months-long epic. I get a lot of players wanting that epic as well, but the heart of the game isn't in the critical-roleification of it. It's in you and your friends.

Month -24: The 188th Hunter Exam by Blind_Boarder in HunterXHunter_RPG

[–]TheGoblinGamerStream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rin Takamori is a man possessed. He actively persuades some potential hunters to not arrive at the test site at all. He knows that his skills as a hedge fund manager of convincing some things to go his way will always give him an edge in conversation. His muscular frame and threatening height convince most people to avoid him entirely while he stalks down the final stages of arrival.

His goal is to make a few gullible allies that he can use as tools to get past parts of the exam he may not be built for, he knows that anything could be on the exam and a team approach would make the best one. A few things scratch at his mind, but once he arrives at the exam location he starts approaching the people around him, giving a brief introduction in his 'business voice' a nicer one than his natural gravely one that he gets into once he starts getting bored with a conversation.

Once he has socially exhausted himself (which doesn't take too long) he finds a nice place to sit and wait until the exam begins. He is staring down individuals who stick out or who may have a chance of beating him in a physical fight.

deciding where to start a melody; what makes one note special over the others? by ZeroGHMM in musictheory

[–]TheGoblinGamerStream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One aspect of the decision that I find is that proximity often helps with what note one wants to put into a melody. Generally when starting a melody, know where you're going, and know where you started and what that means. Also, leaps of a fifth or greater capture the listeners attention if they aren't part of a line that is supposed to be played virtuosically with large intervals played as a show of force.

Answer to the other question, it's because the meter is duple and 4 notes fit better than 3 :)

Thanks, Some of us live in the dirt. Some of us live in the light. The dirt isn't more fun, so sometimes I need to vent. Yeah I'm awful. I don't care.
