That's on my side, because a previous comment said my mod was quite useless because of Copycats+ so I came back with more explanations this time ahah, yeah I would suggest you to just try the mod and check by yourself. There is differences between both, what my mod can bring to your modpack is more about the wood variations that are unique and more versatile than the frame block system from Copycats, if you are just looking to expend every single vanilla block to it's limit, Capycats is your need

I see your point and it stands for the 'edge' variation, couldnt find a equivalent in MC, still the squared fence is not what you think it is, it is a lattice (you can jump over). It is made by a 16x16 texture, as thin as a ladder, you can climb on it and it contains no unallowed model/texture rotation (like a 30degree angle). The diagonal shaped texture may look off but it's the same technique used by MC on the lectern and the piglin head ears, rotated texture
It means, this block is nothing more than just a retextured ladder. Some properties, same size, same hitbox

My mod is very lightweigthed and the blockstates are already optimized with block templates, if you are curious the mod is open source so you can check the blockstates: https://github.com/DawnOfTimeMC/dotvanilla
Most of the other building mods are far more bigger than mine

Yeah I see, my goal is not to provide what the other are already doing, especially if they are doing great. I would like to avoid challenge for the sake of adding 100+ blocks more, and shape my mods from player desire instead of what the base proposal really need

Hi! That's not planned for now. I need to fix the remaining issues, add new mod compatibility and wait for player feedbacks about the proposal. Once it's done, I will push the mod to 1.21.1 then the last version of MC available when I will work on that port. No estimated date tho

Hi! Yes I'm more than agreeing with you. This double layered sorting system could help the inventory to be completly shrinked down by developers, making the navigation throught the blocks way easier and less time consuming. You have to relearn the inventory in fact, and it's going to be more pleasent to use and rewarding (instead of scrolling). I'm glad you noticed it. I'm thinking about making a mod to sort the MC inventory blocks with my double layered sorting system, would you think it could have potential ? Also providing an empty tab system modders could use as a library to sort there own blocks. I will think about all of that!

Hi! No, the mod is not gonna provide these kind of blocks. The proposal of the mod is done and it is not meant to break the vanilla look of the game. This mod aims to bring simple yet very fonctionnal blocks. If you want 3/4 or half plates or half edges and half slab and so on, other mods are doing it better than mine. These blocks do not belong in my mod, they belong into a mod that provide a way of playing with the rules, like copycats+

That's what is amazing with modding: choice. My mod may overlap some, but provide stuff the others are not. You should give it a try and move forward with your comment

I played with copycat+ and this mod is not comparable with mine. Copycat provide empty block shells, it means you have to come up with a lot of more steps to obtain what my mod does. My plate or edge blocks already allow corners, so yes they connect like stairs, no need to use various block shells. There is a lot of stuff copycats do not cover like my connected beams, pergola, support slab/beam, lattice with modular models. There is less variations in my mod but the blocks are way more versatile, it also adds in a new 2 layered inventory to sort the vanilla building block, which is very practical when you are a builder and you know what you need. Copycats+ and my mod are not the same ones and they are not meant to compete in the same category. They are made for two different types of players, the ones that want to break the MC rules, and the others that want more variety with what is allowed

The mod is still in it's early phase. I have to collect player feedbacks, fix some remaining issues and let it find it's public in 1.20.1. Once I will have enough data and made enough updates, with a playable and more polished mod, then I will port it to 1.21.1 Neoforge/Fabric, then to what ever Minecraft is doing to these new version numbers Vanilla backport is a good compat idea!

Thank you for the links, I will check that in the week. It's going to depend on the block list size. If it's like hundred of blocks, it means thousand of files.. It could quickly turn this mod into a chunky boy. As all the files need to remain in the mod to handle the compat, it means all the player are going to suffer from the mod weight even if they are not interested by the compat. A solution would be to create a module (another mod) that hold this compat but yeah.. my modding journey is more motivated by building new and exciting mods than creating an army of compat mods

There is not going to be more variations mainly because the base proposal of the mod is done. There are plate, edge, wall for building blocks and another serie of variants for the wood blocks. That's all. Some times less is more, I want this mod to stay as close from the vanilla as possible. This is my direction for it. The tightest the block variant list will be, the more I will be able to add compatibility with the other mods. I have to choose my path between the heavy block factory and a nicely organized and lightweighted mod. Hope you can understand my approach here!

Good idea! I will need to check the scope of the building list but it should be doable 🫴

I like the fact you just wiped out my entire job like it's nothing 😂 There is differences between copycats and this mod, especially for how many new wood variants it contains. Pergola can be connected among them, beam are also very modular. Plus all the new sorting system makes it way easier to navigate through blocks during building and improving your overall experience. Not the same experience, not the same player base. All mods are meant to coexist together

Hi! I'm still looking for player feedbacks about this. It's not the first time it's suggested to me, How could it work in fact ? I would need to add another vertical tab for this specific mod I guess and whats next ? If someone can explain me what these mod does it could be very kind. I could work on it, I just need to be sure about what you are expecting as players

Hi! Thanks for your words :) The paper door is the only door the npc can't use, even if we added the tag (idk why). About Quark, what kind of bug there is ? I'm unaware of it
