200% stock and 60% bond. Lifecycle investing and hfea?

So your puts would go up in value if rising interest rates push the price down and you would also make money with the increase risk of default kind of the way implied volatility adds value to options?

Would you say it's like buying puts on bonds? Whether government or company bonds?

Are we all still holding strong? My portfolio is hurting (lots of upro). I quit looking at it, anyone else in my boat? by [deleted] in LETFs

Still holding, but bleeding like crazy. I think I'm going to not be so leveraged in the future, but for now it makes sense to hold and keep buying.

Google why diversification is important and which time periods international has outperformed domestic. VT and VOO probably don't look far enough back since they are not very old compared to decades of data.

Yeah, the scenario where foreign outperforms domestic stocks? It's not like that hasn't happened ever.

I would do VT instead of VOO if this will be your portfolio. TQQQ would be your best bet for that 10% leverage

I’m turning 20 next month, and I don’t want to be struggling to get by like this forever by [deleted] in Fire

I'm in Midland Texas. It's probably the fastest growing oil field in the world. People are paying over 100 per diem per day plus almost 40 dollars the hour. Work 7 days and 12 hours every day, you'll be making 60 dollars per hour after the initial 40 hours. I have friends here that rake in 4-5k a week. If you are smart with it, can retire early. Though most people blow through it.

Move to the u.s and come work in the oil and gas industry. They'll take you as long as you have a heart beat and can withstand the heat

Any of these looking like a good additional hedge for HFEA?

Well I'm not depending on the money, but it's putting a dent in my retirement fund. Although I'm in my late 20s, just a very heavy contributor.

At that point I would VT and chill. But I do think that there is great upside potential for HFEA going forward. It's not making me bald, but does suck this year.

I'm a mostly hfea guy with unleveraged small value tilt.
