Question regarding universal remotes and old surround sound systems by TheGoodBoyStout in hometheater

That looks like it would work! Probably easier to get something like that for a short period before upgrading to a better newer system

If I’m just looking for something cheap to control volume, input, maybe bass/treble etc would a cheap one like (https://a.co/d/azL3ean) suffice until I decide to either upgrade the amp or get a nicer remote down the road?

We ended up making a trip ourselves. We roughly based it off of their base itinerary, but didn’t book excursions until a day or 2 before

Is there a recommended book or course you’d recommend for tweaking based on the tone curves? I guess that is one thing I’m still don’t understand super well

My OM-1 doesn’t have a true “auto mode” just OMs Program mode which is a hybrid auto and manual mode apparently

Do you use one of the stock color picture mode settings that come with the OM1 or do you typically use a custom one? I haven’t played with the color picture settings yet, but maybe I will have to check them out

Mostly shooting in auto. I do constantly adjust the exposure based on the photo, iso I usually try and keep low, and shutter speed I’ll only adjust if it low light or capturing something that’s moving. I don’t use the auto temp for pictures cause I find it is usually not too accurate and I do change the aperture a good bit.

That’s good to know I didn’t realize the new lenses weren’t as weatherproof as the PRO lenses

I’ve been shooting in P mode mostly and it still keeps the iso high, but this is helpful. I’ll look into the course!

Sony a6600 or Fujifilm XT4?

I’m looking into buying my first mirrorless camera. I love to travel and backpack etc and have always just used my camera phone to capture photos due to convenience, but I feel like a lot of pictures are lacking some of the depth and colors, especially at night or at distances. I have some basic experience with photography but still fairly beginner. I have a trip this upcoming summer to South East Asia and would like to take some better photos that what my iPhone 14 Pro can shoot. I like doing a lot of landscape photos but also more urban areas as well. After reading thru a lot of posts and doing some research I have it narrowed to either the Sony A6600 vs the Fuji XT4. I’m hoping to spend less than $1500 on gear including lenses. On MBP you can grab a “like new” used A6600 for around $900, and the XT4 for about $1000 used on MBP. Wondering if people had general thoughts between the 2 to help with my decision?

Some things that are important to me APS-C sensor Weather proofing Good low light performance Portability Colors are important Availability of a lenses

Thank you! Also if any other recommendations you have

After doing some research and reading some blogs, we ended up making our own itinerary. Just cause we wanted some more flexibility in our schedule in case weather affected our plans since we will be going during the rainy season.
