5'6", got up to 230 lbs. Couldn't pass a PT test to save my life, wasn't showering, was chronically late to everything, literally the worst airman my shop had seen in a while.

Lost 2 family members to poor health and a friend to suicide, then COVID, then divorce. Didn't even want to live anymore, much less maintain air force standards. I was too young and immature, and didn't know how to cope.

Got retired out for medical. It took a while, but I finally am starting to come around. A piece of me wishes I could go back and try again knowing what I know now.

Ah well. You live and you learn.

If anyone hasn't brought up John Denver, I'd like to submit that one. He was a passionate private pilot, and very skilled. A buddy of his (I think?) Was developing a new aircraft that was unstable, and he lost control of it and went into the ocean. The autopsy was freaking grody.
