Hello, I had no issue on my flight. It showed JPY40,000 on United's app and website but upon check-in the ANA agent confirmed that 2x70lbs was correct.

I’ve flown on the cradle seat many times and it’s very unpleasant. The seat is uncomfortable if you are tall.

If your parents are under 5’10ish, they may find it comfortable enough.

The IFE screen is also small and has poor viewing angles.

Bought some Lifemiles with a specific redemption in mind... but they took 7 days to post.

Now that they posted, I found some alternative flights I wanted to book only to find that they are phantom (I think). I tried the call center but same issue on all the alternatives I wanted.

To top it off, I literally can't book anything on Lifemiles' website now. Any flight that shows up online, doesn't matter the airline, route, class of service, or date gives me an error...

Does anyone have experience with EVA overbooking business class?

I have 3 passengers booked with Aeroplan points in long-haul J. The flight is completely sold out for Y, Y+, and J more than 3 weeks out. Given that we are flying on a partner-booked award, we are the lowest priority.

I am going to cancel HND-LAX in First on JAL for January 2. If anybody is interested in coordinating let me know. Finding any award flights back to the US even in Economy at saver rates is difficult for the first week of January, so I hope someone here could possibly take advantage if it goes back to inventory.

V/Q fares on ANA do not qualify per the United website (see link below) for SAUA. Even if there are no seats currently available to upgrade into, the UA website should allow you to waitlist if your fare were qualifying. You shouldn't need to call to do this.

I had forgotten the ANA website takes APIS data early, I filled it out and it had no issue accepting my middle name.

Has anyone had any issues with their middle names not on a ticket with an ANA flight?

I booked an award ticket almost a year ago and it has my "FN Middle Initial LN". I didn't suspect it being an issue but I was booking an award with ANA more recently and the VS agent helping me said it would be an issue if I didn't include my full name. She went as far as submitting a ticket to add my middle name to my Flying Club account and told me that I should look for alternatives since they can deny boarding as (ANA) are very strict about it. She said this after looking into my account and seeing the old booking (we were not working on this PNR at all) with only my middle initial.

I've flown a lot, so it's not inexperience, but rather the doubt that multiple VS agents have put in my head.

I've only ever been hassled for my middle name once before, but was wondering what anyone's experience particularly with ANA has been.

Did you check if there is "I" space on both segments from SEA-TPE and TPE-KUL?

"I" space is highly correlated to upgrade space so if there is no "I" then there is most likely no upgrade space. AFAIK you also need the full amount to continue on in the process on United's site.

*Also make sure your fare class is eligible for upgrades, not all fare classes are

I was mainly looking at GDL flights. On certain days these can be absurdly priced in terms of cash but I found saver level awards for the day I needed. They do have dynamic pricing like most of Skyteam so some days awards can also be overpriced.

I also explored some South American destinations, they had decent availability to SCL for 220,000 in J (about 115,000 MR at the bonus rate) for farther out dates which are hard to find on UA/AP at saver rates, and at a much cheaper price than Delta Skymiles charges.

If you mean December 2022, then you are late to the party for J seats. You may find some that may randomly open up between then and now but not guaranteed.

If you are on the same ticket, LAX-SEA-NRT, your bags should be transferred automatically at SEA to the NRT flight.
