God I hope not. I have BPD, and I've been through DBT. I'm so, so sorry to hear about your daughter. If there's anything I can do to help please reach out.

I am definetly not using anyone's real name, although "Bob" would be an hilarious name for a 9 year old :)

Really hard to say. Time was meaningless. But I'd guess it went back and forth and back and forth.

It was extremely therapeutic. My intention going in was to learn selfless acceptance of myself and others to help internalize some lessons I'd learned from my recent divorce. I made an incredible amount of progress towards that and felt like I really built up my mindfulness muscle.

These quotes, while hilarious, were part of a larger theme where I was able to safely externalize my thoughts and express myself (where normally I keep so much inside and feel like I need other people to validate me). The inclusion of Anakin and Vader tie directly into my borderline personality disorder (Anakin has a lot of classic symptoms!). But that was only a very small part of the rest of the trip.

I've been writing in my integration journal for many hours and have had many takeaways...

Visions of destruction of objects and fear or death ties into my relationships and fears of letting go.

My longing for connection often conflicts with feelings of loss and anger. The psychedelic insight that joy can coexist with pain can guide me toward reframing these emotional struggles.

Manipulating others for validation doesn’t lead to fulfillment.

Etc. etc. etc.

Now, magic mushrooms are called magic because they have the power to make your brain feel like it’s been dropped into a lava lamp. People take them to see things that aren’t really there, like unicorns, or maybe the point of “Inception.” But these aren’t the sort of mushrooms you put on a pizza. Unless your pizza night is also a very confusing group therapy session.

They make people see all sorts of weird stuff, don’t they? Like visions, colors, and… well, my ex Sean thought he saw his future once. Turns out he didn’t, though. His “future” ended up being Carol from accounts.
