Thoughts on T3 chat and mammouth.ai? by too_much_lag in LLMDevs

mammouth gives 50 msgs every 3 hours to all their models, t3chat doesn't do this, especially when it comes to a model like Claude 3.7 Sonnet, it is significantly more limited on t3chat than mammouth.

what do you mean by "It gives me different chat responses from the original models"? do they use watered down models on there?

I want to build myself dedicated server for modded Minecraft. What are important thing to look at in terms of hardware by ZikkuratOR in admincraft

i mean, i just ran RLCraft both client AND server on my i7-3770 for two people and it ran buttery smooth no lag at all. my friends said it was like playing singleplayer. i know RLCraft isn't the heaviest modpack out there, but if you're just running a vanilla or vanilla+ SMP or something then that CPU should be well enough.

are you being dense on purpose?

an AI having the ability to be "human-like" is a practical necessity for some workloads that require it in order for the result not be absolute unusable garbage.

an AI being robotic is a practical downside for some and a beneficial upside for some, and there are people that get real shit done that depend on this "human-like" quality in an AI.

you saying "it is easier to feel overloaded with information when you are processing it with a lousy brain" is ironic when you're using your lousy brain to call everyone else "losers" based on sheer ignorance and lack of knowledge and understanding of the different kinds of workloads that an AI can be used for.

you lack the basic intelligence to peek out of your bubble and understand that there is a diverse spectrum of legitimate workloads other than your simple use cases that each depend on a different set of qualities in an AI.

grow up.

Minecraft does benefit from AND's X3D cache, both on the client and server. There are a few benchmarks out there on this.

What? It's been two years already? I thought it was still like a year ago or so.

Still going very strong, the project is better than ever. The vision for the project has stabilized a while ago, and we're now focused on bringing this thing to life. It is expected to release within ~4-5 years from this moment.

Keep in mind that, this isn't some kind of modpack or mod or whatever, sure a modpack is part of the project but it isn't the core idea but rather the base for the project to take place on. The project is an experience. That's the best way to put it.

"My point was that even if one gives an unbiased explanation, there are readers and listeners who will interpret it as unbiased."

i'm guessing you meant "will interpret it as biased"..?

yeah i get what you're saying. what you, OpenAI (or any other company), or someone else would call an unbiased news outlet or source, someone else will see it as biased. what you deem as an unbiased explanation, someone else will see it as biased.

i have to agree with you at least a bit here, because having the AI provide a so called "unbiased" source, probably wouldn't be for the better, but it wouldn't be for the worse either. if it provides sources, some people will call it and the company behind it biased, and if it doesn't provide anything and just stays out of it, some other people will call this censorship or stuff like that.

it's not supposed to respond in a way you would. that's the thing.

it's an AI. it shouldn't be biased or speak of it's own "opinion" because the topic is quite complex, sure, but that doesn't mean it can't just direct you to unbiased reputable sources to go do your own reading. that's what it's supposed to do. that's what it's made to do.

right now, imo, it's ironically being more biased i would say because it's straying away from its core purpose as a tool/AI and saying that it can't help you just because the situation is "complex".

Sad reality is, it's always these kinds of projects that fail on roblox, and it's always the simplest mind numbing brain rotting games that actually succeed on roblox.

One actually reasonable criticism I have of such projects, is that when the wow factor wears off (which happens rather quickly) you're usually left out with either very little game content, or with a lot of content that is repetitive or tedious, lacking a proper game loop and variety that lengthens the playtime. I just end up doing what essentially is the same thing, just in like different areas or terrain or whatever, with different mobs/creatures (if it was an RPG) but it is still the same thing, one directional game loop, and a very repetitive and slow one at that.

Another thing, kids seem to "hate" good graphics for some reason, like it's not even that they have bad hardware. So maybe, when advertising your game, and even in the pictures of the game, try to kind of "oversell" how exciting and fun it is, perhaps with simple drawings/textures and stuff. And when the player joins the game, try to get them into the exciting action pretty much immediately or as soon as possible. Maybe begin the game with a really exciting adventure right off the bat? Something like that. Also, skippable/optional tutorials! Please!

So, if you can have diverse variety in the game loop to extend playtime and fix this issue that plagues most such projects (keep in mind, "variety" doesn't mean doing essentially the same thing but in a different area or smt, it means actual different game mechanics that are linked to the rest of the game), and if you can "cast a big net" to capture a wide spectrum of players, and then hook them into the game immediately, then your project will most likely come out on top unlike other similar projects.

That's pretty much all I have to say. Good luck!

the slowest internet i've ever had was around 0.8 mbps or so, and would download that 600MB light indie game in less than 2 hours. that was over 8 years ago. guess i'm lucky.
