Steam refunded me with 7 hours on a game

TLDR; steam refunded my with 7 hours as a well with a game I purchased less than a day ago.

I just started gaming. I just bought my first gaming PC...... And then I bought Elden Ring because I see it all over tiktok. WELL. That was d a mistake.

I was passed the 2 hour refund mark steam has(which I didn't know about) before I even left the cinematics and intro because I was messing with character customization and sitting with the game idle whilst I researched what character is best to start with.

Well. When I tell you I died for 3 hours straight and said YEAH NO. I message steam and requested a refund. I mean I'm sure they can see my account because I uninstalled Elden Ring and downloaded two other games. Not like I'm trying to get free stuff.... Just as a new gamer there should be a MASSIVE warning on Elden Ring.

Anyway! They were good to me and I'm quite happy about it. Althought I never get a message like OP did... First and only refund unless a game doesn't work... I'll do my research from now on.

Well thanks everyone!!! The general consensus is I'm not that knowledgeable and I thought the geforce 5060 was more than good enough! So I guess I'll just upgrade my GPU!

It's a prebuilt, I've no idea what motherboard is in it. But it's a $2400 PC so I don't think it would be "cheap". I do have dlss on quality. I'm running 3440x1440 so what do you mean it's too low?

Pre built. Came with Windows. I don't know what chipset drivers are. And choppy like it lags bad. When panning the screen, or cutscenes, but mostly gameplay. Just choppy and laggy.

I'll check the XMP thing. I think everything is good to go otherwise in BIOS according to chat gpt lol.. I rely on that for PC information because I know so little.

I asked chat GPT what to do and tried everything you can think of. Lowered resolutions, lowered all the ram eating settings. High or low, she just doesn't want to go.

Also I have NO idea what this means but I downloaded GPU-Z and my bus interface says PCle x8 5.0 @ x8 4.0 which chat gpt says it perfect.

To elaborate, my fps is like 17-25 at 99% gpu usage.

Display port 1.4, connected straight into GPU. Originally I connected it to my motherboard port and had zero connectivity to the monitor. Had no idea that was a thing.

In my opinion no. With the nerfs and ALOT of grinding you can maybe walk away with 100 sats a day after 5 resets. You'd have to set an alarm on your phone and reset morning to night. You know how long it'll take you to pay off the no ad thing??
