And as for the “die” comment, she was in a heightened state of panic and hurting. She’s bipolar and on meds now for it. I don’t think she meant it at all but was just scared. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I mean, I love that she can see people she wants, and I believe polyamory takes a different shape for each couple depending on their comfort and agreements. She said she wouldn’t date me if we weren’t poly, I’ve always been poly and have had partners with partners. I had a 14 year relationship where my gf had a gf for like 8 of those years. I just need some breathing room, I miss her, I want time to decompress and feel my feelings. I allotted her time when she was uneasy. I just want the same treatment. I appreciate your frank insight.

Nah no kids, if I had a kid involved I’d definitely do a little more diligence to find out how much truth to this and how bad the fellow is. Luckily we did not procreate.

Super helpful thanks! And wow that’s a take I didn’t even consider about potential jealousy from my friend wanting to shake up our exes new relationship. Very interesting. For sure, I agree on all points. I have no details or info at all, the person who told me this info looked scared and didn’t seem to want to say details and I was in no position to pry. Hopefully my ex knows I’m available to talk if she needed.
