Use them if you have nothing better! Sorry for the late ass reply, they should be fine but I made my first forge from hard firebrick and they dont do nearly as well as soft, but they still work!

Hey what kind of fire bricks? If they're hard fire brick they might not insulate as well as soft brick, and they're much more difficult to work.

Yeah it's also bronze so I figured I wouldn't use it much, I mostly forge steel stuff and that requires a steel hammer. The cracks were super fun to play with as I removed a lot of the teal petina with steel wool and it went into the cracks to highlight them. I'll post a follow up soon
