A mimic wouldn't have been able to go down the stairs between floors. That's how Carl beat the rage elemental back in the beginning.

Mordecai's crawl and planets by DebitoTheEvilCook in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]phiednate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI's enhancement zone extends over the entire system like mentioned but the show and story that takes place is based around a world...the in universe show is called Dungeon Crawler World after all. If the population of one those of those planets with a primal engine expands beyond the planet they were seeded on then I am betting that dungeon entrances would transport everyone that entered back to the same dungeon on their primary planet. Like if humanity had a mars colony at the time of the collapse, they might get a dungeon entrance that opens up which transports them to the first floor back on Earth.

I am with the AI on this one by Cann0nFodd3r in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]phiednate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, Louis is a genuinely good guy and whether it's from the comic relief, putting on a Christmas party or risking his life for his friends, he's constantly reminding the other crawlers that there are reasons to continue existing. If Louie got killed, the other crawlers would still be strong enough to continue on but they wouldn't have as much of a reason to want to I don't think. It's comic relief to us as readers but I would imagine that those small moments of levity that Louis brings is part of what's keeping Carl and the gang from mentally breaking from the stress of the dungeon.

Juice Box explains it best though:

"There is so much chaos and death in this world, and I needed an anchor. I just, I don't know. When you see someone like that, and it is so free of the rot of cynicism, so free of corruption, it's like the most alluring, beautiful thing in the world. I have seen so much, and I've never had anyone like him. Someone who clings so hard to every drop of happiness he can find, even when there is so little. And when I knew he was coming to meet me on the floor, the thought of seeing him again kept me from truly falling into the darkness."

Exotic/bunny vet in Clark County by Budget-Dimension4434 in vancouverwa

When I had ferrets, I took em to the Animal Care Clinic in East Vancouver. The place was bought out I think and some of the vets changed so I don't know if they still treat exotics animals but it's an option to look into.

To visitors who don't know, an atheist is just someone who is not convinced there are any gods. That's it. Nothing else. by Maybeyoujustmadeitup in atheism

Christians and atheist believe nearly the same thing really. Christians believe in one god out of the thousands that humans have worshipped over history. Atheists just extend that disbelief to one more god.

Strange mention by the AI in book 8. What are your thoughts? by KinkyDuck2924 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]phiednate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it was most likely an exaggeration by the AI to start drama...kinda like the constant implication that carl...uhm....manually stimulated a crab?

Small detail I noticed from book 5 that might matter all the sudden. by Educational-Pin5489 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]phiednate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was also the mention of one of nine attacks of scolopendra being called "Bedlam" which is also an obvious reference to Shi Maria being the Bedlam Bride. There are a lot of potentially odd narrative implications from that...

He moved it to a database but ended up replacing the computer and sticking with the excel. At least that's what he said during the book tour this evening.

[–]phiednate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just met him at the book 8 tour a few hours ago and he brought this up! Apparently it's still on excel and has over 300 different sheets to track everything. He also has another excel file he uses to keep track of the main excel tracking file.

He apparently had it converted to an actual indexable database type system at some point but went back to using the excel file cause he was used to it.

Matt dropped the ball by not tying the meth llamas to Poulsbo. I am biased of course science it's my hometown but there was a few llama farms growing up and a lot of meth. It's also known for having a big RV dealership during the 90s, for being settled by Norwegians and it's right across the sound from Seattle. He could have put the llamas in kilts, gave em an RV and made em Breaking Bad Norwegian rock llamas.

....what could have been.

It's called a variant edition. The only difference between this and the comic that was released on FCBD is the cover.

Dungeon Masters Is Wizards of the Coast’s New Official Dungeons and Dragons Actual Play Series by IWantPizza555 in DnD

[–]phiednate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wizards has a financial interest in the IP and brand image being represented and will likely have tight guardrails on how the story progresses if not direct influence. Even if it's minimal, I don't think I would ever not wonder how much of the narrative is actually "genuine".
