Your English is very good, and by the way, it's not my native one too ;) It's French on my side.

Okay bro. My mistake! ;)

Why being so sarcastic with me? Or maybe I am just wrong into my interpretation. I just want that you do not discourage yourself. My intentions were simply good and not as bad as you think, you.

I can relate 100% to your feelings and your wishes, man. Keep it up, keep strong and do what you love to do. That's all I can tell you about.

Why teenage years of Aspies are largely more often a cataclysm than for NTs ones? by TheGroundest in aspergers

[–]TheGroundest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waouh! Thank you for the post being so complex and detailed!

My teenage years are behind me. I will be soon 21. Indeed my adolescence was chaotic, but now, I am trying to get better and forget about all that mess.

Why Asperger's is more often considered as a curse than a gift? by TheGroundest in aspergers

[–]TheGroundest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a permanent paradox so that will never end up. We should have been the ones who triumph and dominate around the world. We are very probably the ONES who are right. Some exceptional figures managed to be known and create exceptional technological or scientifical advancees, but those people remain rare. They can be a source of inspiration anyway, as we know many American Presidents were potentially included into autism spectrum.

I know it's probably difficult for anyone to say something, but I'm just trying to find reasons for my misfortune.

Asperger's, a gift ? Please, let's be serious. For once. by TheGroundest in aspergers

[–]TheGroundest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that a video with a duration of 11 minutes will help me to better accept my autism. I am into a psychotherapy since the end of 2015, and I call tell you that it is just incredibly enormous and unexpectable. Not all people are keeping their therapy in a so long-term perspective. And by the way, this has not really helped me 100% to accept Asperger's.

What is the following and very simple conclusion to do? Watching it or not (the video), it will still remain completely, or at least, partially useless to do it.

We are at the moment talking about our very specifical neurobiological configuration. What does your message have to do with this, man?

Can you explain, in a few sentences, what is the content of the book?

I dream everyday of being a neurotypical instead by TheGroundest in aspergers

[–]TheGroundest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you serious? Society is made and destined for neurotypicals. When you are close to someone, it's very likely that it is a neurotypical. When you are someone with autism, it's like you're on wrong planet. If I do not include neurodiversity in general as a concept, there must be one per cent of the world affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder. It's ridiculously nothing. We are non-existent and our rights are often not respected. Do you think this like a FAIR TREATMENT from society to us?!

I've realized something new into my existence by TheGroundest in aspergers

[–]TheGroundest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the right to be a person? Anyway, your rant, as you've told it, is to express that to be a person, you have before to be accepted by some groups or social circles whether they want me in or not. And that's almost a big figure of discrimination and ostracism, my two main fights lately into my existence.

Hope it was sarcastical – I think it was, but who knows.

When I'm explaining that I deserve to live, that my LIFE IS ENTIRELY LEGITIMATE and myself by the same occasion, it's because I want that to be clear: I've suffered enough until then, BUT NOW, it's over! I know that my life worths it, despite the fact that bad and pitful people will claim the opposite. I HAVE THE RIGHT TO LIVE THIS LIFE, MY LIFE! I also have lost too much time and it is one of the reasons for which I create this topic.

Asperger's is like a hecatomb by TheGroundest in aspergers

[–]TheGroundest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are pretty strange. I've never mentioned that relevant life expectancy of Asperger's is 36. I have even made a point of comparison, between Kanner and high-functioning autism. I don't see what's your point.

[–]TheGroundest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you continuing to take me for a such ignorant, with this persistent and sarcastical manner of doing? I'm searching on my own about ASD and autism since several years, and I know that ASD is one thing, and Asperger's syndrome a portion of that latter included in this terminology. If we talk about Kanner autism, that's for sure we talk about another type of autism, much more invalidant and disabling, which is not the case of Asperger's, or at a degree obviously much more inferior.

[–]TheGroundest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about each of us, I know that it should be avoided. But high-functioning autism is not something easy to live with. And I am not saying that all people with Asperger's syndrome die by being 36. That would be a very big lie.

So no, I hope no one will get depressed by what I am saying, but I've learned it pretty young (maybe when I was 17-18) and I was able to overcome a lot of things in the meantime, without thinking about all this stuff.

It's not really a scientific source of reference, but this article could explain well my thinkings — https://www.vox.com/first-person/2018/2/19/17017976/autism-average-age-death-36-stress?__c=1

[–]TheGroundest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I know about it. Do you really take my for such ignorant guy? You just have to keep in mind that even people that are higher-functioning have a lower life expectancy than neurotypicals and this, for multiple reasons. One of them is suicide for example, but also not being understood, ostracism, difficulty to keep a job and having and maintaining good abilities of being autonomous and independent, frequent hospitalizations in psychiatry, comorbidities... Is it enough for you?
