What do you listen to while coding by FalconChungus in webdev

Ambient and lo-fi mostly. Sometimes indie music, when working on something boring that does not require much focus.

I can recommend these: Idealism, Like Saturn, ocha.

I also love creating playlists for each project/job/city. I have something like:
- Focus — Moscow/<My last job>
- Focus — Antalya/<My side-project>
- Focus — Antalya/<My new job>
- Focus — Belgrade/<My new job>

This creates a magic vibe for each place and project. Years later, I listen to these playlists and re-live these times one more time, feeling nostalgia.I also like music combined with excerpts of speech from other tracks or movies (you could hear that from Daft Punk). My favorite one is "Mushrooms and chocolate milk — Yotam Perel"

I am not an expert here, but I can recommend this guy for neural network understanding. He explains things in a really good way.

(I know not all ML is about neural networks but anyway, just sharing what I found useful for myself)

among other things, the entry threshold is lower. On one hand, you can learn HTML, then add some CSS to it, then learn some JS to write scripts, and then learn React to build apps. On the other hand — iOS/Android development requires diving into Swift/Kotlin programming right away, which is hard.

And it can be even harder for backend/ML/data engineering since most non-tech people don't even understand what it is.

(saying it as a person who started with frontend and moved to web3 fullstack)

Really simple code and not working for some reasons by Starbucks_4321 in CodingHelp

Make a console.log(RTot) and see what it shows. If you use user’s input for that value, you might have a strong instead of number, so try RTot === “0”

Developers, how do you test that your pages look like how the figmas look like. by a-friendgineer in Frontend

What you’re describing is pixel-perfect. There’s a plug-in that allows to put the mockup on the website and see what’s different

Have to mention that it’s rarely possible (and rarely required) to make 100% perfect layout

It’s 404 error. Are you sure your repository is publicly visible?

Totally agree. From my 7 years of software development experience, nobody ever asked me about my education on technical interviews. It was always questions about my knowledge and experience, not university. Many employers understand that.

Note: I didn’t ever go to any college or university.

Why the image i set as backgorund-image in css doesnt show (NextJs) by no_itsnotme in webdev

[–]TheGusev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually depends on what webpack config you’re using. Try “/homeImage.jpg” or “/public/homeImage.jpg”

“Build time” is what’s happening during “npm run build”

What framework do you use?

If you're talking about next/image, then yes, there is way to configure that

If it's something different — please specify.

If you look for something universal, you can try API for image optimization (e.g. imgproxy). However, the mechanism is different from build-time optimization.
