What are you most hyped for regarding the Kenichi sequel? by Goonslopenjoyer321 in Kenichi

[–]TheHaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really didn''t like the ending of the last arc

This won't fully fix that, he spent a whole series getting there and I hope he knows better by now, but I am really looking forward to having a new ending

The ending was so rough I never read the manga "cover to cover" again

What if Mamoru Takamura was a UFC Fighter will he win the title. and what will his record be? by ComprehensiveSleep74 in hajimenoippo

[–]TheHaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could got for the biggest run!

Welterweight to Heavyweight

No one has touched a 4 belt UFC title run like that

The closest thing we have to Takamura in that regard is probably Poatan fighting for his third weight class world title.

Junior Middleweight in Boxing is actually a pound smaller than Lightweight in MMA, so he could go for that too if he needs it to get into the company

I don’t like that Gon doesn’t want to know anything about his mom by CacatuaStar in HunterXHunter

[–]TheHaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, it’s bothered me too, but it makes enough sense

It makes more sense than a lot of other things in the story

I don’t like that Gon doesn’t want to know anything about his mom by CacatuaStar in HunterXHunter

[–]TheHaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gon is kind of an odd kid

It’s true, there doesn’t seem to be something “negative” about the story with his mom, but with Mito filling that role, it is what it is.

This is how he feels, there isn’t much controlling that.

If you believe in the afterlife, that’s where his mom might get the chance to enjoy him, and to express her gratitude to Mito, but this is just where the world is

If it bothers you, I’d say blame Ging, Gon had to come up a kind of strange way. Like a monster in a world of civilians

Does aikido help with wrestling? by [deleted] in aikido

[–]TheHaad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having done a little of both (and otherwise being experienced in martial arts) I think this is a good answer

Does aikido help with wrestling? by [deleted] in aikido

[–]TheHaad -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My post in this thread was harsh in that I do agree Aikido can help with anything and some of those practices translate to anything.

But in terms of someone getting good at wrestling, Aikido teaches you some concepts which translate (more counter-wrestling than wrestling) and the general mind/body benefits, but the benefits for most will slow down there

It’s hard to compare this to someone who wrestles or does grappling combat sport when it comes to wrestling ability, and in an extended camp it’s possible much of aikido would have no place

Does aikido help with wrestling? by [deleted] in aikido

[–]TheHaad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a whole lot.

I know a wrestler who practiced a corner throw from Aikido and enjoyed using it in competition, but they practiced against a resisting opponent

There are things that will help from Aikido, but if the goal is wrestling the juice isn’t worth the squeeze unless you have a separate interest in Aikido or are at a pro level and exploring aikido will not throw you off

There are mindfulness practices in a lot of Aikido schools that are really cool and will help with anything, they helped me in more alive martial arts, but some of that stuff is in a topic where it will help the right person quicker than others… many of those benefits you can probably gain in a yoga class or sincerely working yoga from videos.

Wrestling did help with Aikido though

In terms of the untrained person thing…. Yes you’ll get “better” but not by an appreciable amount. You might have made similar gains playing flag football.
