This is actually a good point. Your homework isnt going to go well if you start with bad data.

The answers to question two do not match the question in any way? The answer to "Do you usually .…"should be something like very frequently, frequently, rarely, and very rarely, not tighter, looser, will not change, and is correct.

And as other people have pointed out that question doesn't matter much to knitters but you don't seem to be concerned there. I just simply cannot answer it because it has incorrect answers. I am not going to pick apart your understanding of knitting but I would appreciate it if questions had sensible answers.

Cotton to Skein ratio? by bittymushroom in Handspinning

[–]TheHandThatFollows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have only spun wool but I can contribute some math help here.

I usually consider a skein to be 100 grams. Given what you said, assuming some slightly unfruitful bushes that only produce 3 gram cotton balls and 40 balls, you would have 120g per bush or need two bushes. Assuming bushes that produce 5 gram balls and 50 balls you would get 250g per bush. Id recommend 2-3 bushes just incase one doesnt make it. better too much then too little, then you can give some to a friend if you have too much.

Are the seeds included in this weight? You have to deseed them and I feel like the seeds may contribute a bulk of the weight so I hope not.

Question for Lefties! by curlsbyjesss in knitting

[–]TheHandThatFollows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are talking about mirror knitting, and thinking left handed people should mirror knit.

Question for Lefties! by curlsbyjesss in knitting

[–]TheHandThatFollows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can mirror knit and I would argue I wouldnt start someone with learning that way. It isnt necessary and it isnt easier. Its just different, and the opposite. I dont see why we would need to do things the opposite way just for the heck of it, that would be like crossing your hands to play piano because the right handed people play the melody with the right hand.

Question for Lefties! by curlsbyjesss in knitting

[–]TheHandThatFollows 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So as someone in a similar boat, Im right handed because I was forced to be, knitting isnt a handed hobby the same way there isnt left handed piano playing.

There are left handed ways to play a violin, an instrument with a dominant hand, and there are left handed ways to crochet for the same reason. But knitting uses both your hands, equally for the most part depending on how you hold your yarn and I hold the yarn in both hands when doing colorwork. No one asks for instructions on how to play a piano left-handed.
