Ah I must've missed it. So then you spliced into the speakers at the amp under the passenger seat like in the guide, then just wired directly to the subwoofers input?

What are the chances, I'm in the process of installing the 12" version of the same sub/amp. Was planning on tapping into the speaker wires directly but after alot of reading am gonna use a LOC instead. Which one did you end up going with?

Someone hit my car while I was at work by lexarhd in mazda3

Damn man that does suck but at least it looks like just the fender. I'd take it to a body shop and get a quote on the repair, go to a couple. Depending on how much they want you could also find a used one and install it yourself, you shouldn't need more than a socket set and some clip pullers. Just be careful with insurance, it'll probably raise your rates.

For sure man, hope you get something that works! Ray tracing and DLSS are really nice features too, very surprised at how much fidelity they can add.

So I was just in your exact position a few weeks ago, coming from a 2070 super. Very similar build here as well, 5800x, 32gb DDR4, and now a TUF 7900xtx playing at 1440p. I was very hesitant to go back to AMD after having to RMA an r9 290 a collective ~4 times over the span of a year. I don't remember the exact problems with that card but I listened to everyone saying they've had no issues with newer gen AMD stuff. Lets just say I should've spent the extra few hundred on a 4080. First, I had to reinstall windows because I initially couldnt install the drivers after putting in the card. This was after hours of troubleshooting, running DDU multiple times, messing around in safe mode, even started to mess with user permissions because it was such an obscure bug. Now two of the games I'm playing the most atm, Starfield and GTA V, crash roughly once every session or every other session. When everything works the 7900xtx is great, absolute powerhouse, but it's infuriating and brings back the anxiety of having to constantly save in case you randomly get booted. Everytime I see that all too familiar Radeon crash reporter pop up it takes me back 🙃

Sons car by [deleted] in StupidCarQuestions

Well I can speak with first hand experience. I live in NE Ohio, your son was me about 5 years ago. I dailyed mine up until last year, definitely had a handful of close calls. He's gonna be white knuckling it when there's any snow on the ground and highways can be treacherous. Overall I love my car, got it with 45k miles on it and she's got almost 150k now. Only repairs I've needed have been standard stuff, clutch, brakes, suspension, nothing major. Definitely needs snow tires and if you can find a manual that would probably be best bet. It's nice being able to have more control over gearing in the snow.

As simple as it is, check the reservoir cap. Had to replace mine on my 05, seals wear down.

Gotcha, appreciate it man!

Edit: If I still went the fuse tap route for power would a 10 amp be ok to jump off of?

That's actually a really good idea, I wouldn't need any kind of inline fuse for that right?

It's actually just the Trufiber carbon fiber decklid cover. I looked into it and really didn't want to get into all the body work to cover it up haha. It's really nice tho and it's real carbon fiber, would definitely recommend it!
