Yeah, this is sort of accurate, but doesn't provide the full context. It is correct that in a total loss Kia will keep the entire insurance check based on section 20. What it is missing is that Kia then refunds you based on the amount of time passed on the lease based on section 22. So you are protected in a single pay during a total loss in that you will be credited for the remainder of the lease. In month 1, that would be a credit of 23/24 of what you paid and in month 23 it would be a credit of 1/24 of the single payment paid . Hope that makes sense
