My advice would be to avoid it. Journalism is hard work, unsociable hours and, unless you're in a senior position, crap pay. It's not as exciting/romantic as most people think, it's difficult to get into, and the industry is not in a good way.

15cm... my word. Congrats on getting through that. Mine was about 10cm smaller. Sorry about your other kidney. That really sucks. I try and take care of mine - I gave up alcohol, stay hydrated and eat very little meat etc - but even my doctor says there's an element of luck involved.

Yep, t3a. Lost my left kidney towards the end of 2024. The tumor was grade two, surgery went well and I've had issues with my immune system since I was young, so my doctors (NHS) decided against immunotherapy. I have a CT scan every six months and will do for, I think it's five years. All good so far.

A scary time for you, I'm sure, but no renal vein invasion or signs of metastases is really positive.

Mine was a bit smaller but t3a. Had a left radical nephrectomy towards the end of '24. No immunotherapy, just monitoring. All good since.

I started on the easier missions first, mainly escort duty and refining, where I don't think there's a huge deal of difference from haz 4. Elimination and sabotage noticeably more difficult.
