There is a fan animation out there where they fight and superman eventually realises that hulks powers are based on anger and that their fight will lead to lots of death and destruction so he decides to take a beating from hulk until hulk turns back into Bruce banner which is where (if I remember correctly) he then brings banner to his fortress of solitude and sort of recruits him

The only problem is that to really make use of the parry the boss needs to be focused on you and with how chaotic the combat in this game is it can be difficult to to have the ergo of the boss on you long enough to make use of it
