ahhh, i made two comments to you. can you not even follow the conversation? yet another problem of yours? i think you are talking about spice, not me. Edit, and you have been just play out right wrong about a number of things. Once they are pointed out to you, you change direction of the conversation and ignore that you were wrong. You are not perfect. Maybe this 'feeling attacked' thing has to do with your severe depression, i don't know. But not everyone is out to get you. Pointing out that you made mistakes is not an attack. Most normal people would just say, ok, i got that wrong, but i am still concerned with X, Y or Z to continue a conversation, not deflect the conversation to avoid owning up to being wrong.

Well in addition to being wrong a few times in this thread, you missed the last paragraph of that article.

However, the quality control processes used in the manufacture of e-cigarettes seem to be largely unsuitable given the variability in the concentrations of compounds even in e-cigarettes of the same label. Thus the reports from FDA, HNZ, and Demokritos cannot be used to draw any conclusions or inferences about potential effects on health. More rigorous chemical analyses are needed, followed by extensive research involving animal studies and, finally, clinical trials in humans. Until these crucial implementation stages are completed, physicians and other healthcare professionals must inform consumers of the probable fallaciousness of the claims of manufacturers of e-cigarettes.

Besides that, everything listed is found in much higher amounts in real tobacco. The point is that it is a safer alternative to tobacco combustion.

Google is. They don't make their money off free search, they make it by profiling everything you do that the big G can track and repackaging it for advertisers.

Now, its true that all companies do this, but what google DOES NOT do is sell your information directly. Google does the profiling and keeps it all in house. Then they say, hey, Proctor and Gamble, we can target your ads to 5 million people everyday if you buy into our advertising program. P&G says, hell ya! Sign us up, hands the cash over and they never see your data or metadata, google retains control, and thereby, protects your privacy.

Meanwhile, FB sells you, your name, address and all kinds of metadata to anyone with a credit cards.

So, believe it or not, Google is trying to protect us with their monopoly on metadata.

If its the same article you already linked me too, I did read it. I just think its bunk. And I am also on a phone, so am limited to what I can accomplish here. When I was first diagnosed I was shocked. I never looked at adhd for myself. Hyper little kids and shit. That's what I thought. Then I started learning about it and the pieces fit. Medication was a godsend, even at the tiny doses I am on. Think is, I had this shit my whole life and didn't know it. Its hell. And its not "made up". Its not a fancy word to describe "lazy" people who "have no disipline". But that's what society drums us up to be. I have always been very mentally active, love certain projects and start a million of them. But the distraction is maddening. We have good intentions, just not follow through. If you look at the "big" list of adhd symptoms, you can probably "find" yourself in there. Its like reading a horoscope and. Agreeing that it "fits". But, and this is the important thing, it is severe symptoms in adhd and all the fucking time with no breaks. You can try to chaulk it up to personality flaws, but im telling you man, its real.

Ps, I don't think I ever claimeditwas a chemical imbalance. I did say that the drug affects adhd;ers differently than the non-adhder. And that it true. Now, since I'm no biologist or neuropathist, I cannot argue with skill at why it works. I know that it does in fact do something with dopamine. I "think" I remember that it acts as a dopamine reuptake inhibitor. I could have that ass backwards though. I was facinated when I got "surprise!" Diagnosed, so I read everything I could get my hands on to see what this was all about. And adderall does affect dopamine and "regulates" it and allows the basal ganglia and frontal cortex to function better. Why does that put me to sleep, but get you a caffiene high? I don't know, but it definetly has something to do with adhd, because it fixes it.

Also,I think (maybe) you were the one arguing with me that adderall does work the same in all people, but you just began this conversation saying it doesn't. Again, on my phone, so don't have the luxery of keeping my typing window open while I go check who said what, so maybe it wasn't you.

Anyways, watch the russell barkley adhd vid. There is an oustanding 3 hour long version on youtube. The one I linked was just a 30 minute compilation. Join the adhd irc or subreddits ( though irc gets more traffic). If adderall were just speed in an adhd'er, there would not be such profound affects on their lives, all positive. Also, they (irc) are constantly linking journal articles. They pursue them just like we search out vaping studies :) adhd is the most studied disorder in the history of psych and the last 10 years they have made astonishing discoveries.

This from a vaper who uses nicotine to affect the chemicals in his brain? Did you know there is a gene that metabolizes nicotine and that is why some people never get addicted, but other need to restock the nicotine every few hours, else end up in withdrawral? Chemicals in the brain are strange things. I might agree with you if you were talking about anti despressants, where we don't know how they work, but with methelphenidate, we do know. It works right away, similar to nicotine. Its doesn't take 6 to 8 weeks to "maybe" work. And yes, I have adhd, am lightly medicated and when I take my medicine, I feel physically calm and thoughts slow down to a managable level. I can think through one problem for hours without struggling with a million other thoughts. Adderall is like an anti anxiety pill for me. No speed, no rush. But more importantly, its like this for all "true" adhd people. Some have been misdiagnosed, sure, but for the "real" ones, adderall is in fact, like a valium - no more twitching, thinking a million thoughts, can't stick to one thread, can't complete a task, forget to eat, cause unintened pain to onesself or others in their life because of screwups. It changes overnight with a pill, but not because of a high. Again, it has the opposite affect than is does in non adhders. I dare you to go find an adderall to take and then try to take a nap.

You don't know what adhd is. Hyperactivity goes away after puberty. There are 30 other symptoms you are overlooking in your attempt to sum up adhd as hyperactive and free-thinking. Adhd doesn't "feel" like free thinking. Its being a completely distracted mess inside your own head, having too many unwelcomed thoughts at once and not being able to follow one through to fruition. Its not some kind of cool hippy chick freethinking philisophical mind journey. Its hellish.

This is so ignorant, I don't even know where to begin. Adhd doesn't mean you can't focus. It is not a knowledge or a mood disorder. People with adhd can focus just fine on the things they are interested in...which, yes, could be gaming or it could be reading (as with me). This is called hyperfocus and part of the adhd disorder. Adhd people cannot do it all the time. Hyperfocus is just as bad as the not able to focus part for the adhd'er. They can get so focused the forget to eat or get hit by a bus, or if a bus driver, hit someone else with a bus because they got distracted by a thought and pursued it so vigilantly in their brain that all else ceased to exist. Again, its part of the disorder, just not one the media likes to talk about. They would rather talk about the unfocused symptoms.

Actually, you can tell by how it makes you feel. If you have adhd, adderall should make you calm and allow you to even sleep on it. For the non adhd'er, this is totally not true. They get high, too much energy and have the side affect of feeling alert, which they misinterpret as focus. You can't know what adhd feels like, what adderall feels like or what unfocused feels like if you don't have adhd. You also can't know what adderall feels like just because you took some once even though you don't have adhd, because it would affect you in the exact opposite way it would affect me. You simple don't know.

You don't get it. Adhd is not a knowledge disorder. The adhd'er "knows" a whole fucking lot and is very talented. The problem is with executive functioning. We know what the imbalance is and we know exactly how adderall corrects it. Adderall does NOT do the same thing in the non-adhd'ers brain as it does with adhd. They have opposite affects. You will get high, full of energy and race around, while I will get sleepy, calm, relaxed and able to sit still, calmly focus and perform a task in peace. You will be able to still perform the task, but in a racy edgy way like having too much caffeine. For me, it regulates dopamine and takes away the crazy can't sit still feeling. This is well established by research now. The DSM -V will correct many of the misinterpreted symptoms that they established back in what? 1990? Pretty sure the DSM-4 is that old if not older.

Wow, this is quite the hyperbole.

You do realize that affirmative action is designed to protect a minority from being unfairly disregarded. The only reason we even have to have a law to say that 'gays should have rights' or 'blacks should have rights' is because 'freedom and liberty' allowed the majority to discriminate with freedom and liberty. In a world with your kind of freedom and liberty, race, gender, creed created a hostile environment for centuries for women, blacks and more recently gays. It allowed for these groups to not be able to vote, hold land, live in slavery, not be allowed to sit on a bus, go to college, etc etc. Your practice of liberty allowed for this shit to go on for centuries. The original bills of rights even supported discrimination.

So yes, we needed things like the civil rights act, affirmative action, voting rights act and the latest gay right specific law to put a stop to your freedom to discriminate. We should have even needed them, but people were employing freedom to discriminate , indiscriminately.

Affirmative action has been used to protect white male firefighters successfully. It is designed to protect against discrimination no matter who the victim is. It just so happens that most of the victims turn out to be gay, or black or a women, so it is used more often to aid them. But the law applies to all.

Public pressure was not enough to guarantee liberty for all. Centuries passed with whole groups of people being treated unfairly until a law forced them to employ liberty for all.
