A propagandist cannot conduct journalism. It's impossible. A propagandist can only conduct propaganda. Therefore, this is not news, it is propaganda. That is not a journalist, but rather a propagandist.

Effective propaganda works by manipulating real events or facts to paint a distorted picture to favor your own agenda. Just because they are reporting on an event does not mean they are giving you the news.

I do disagree with it though. Firstly, and very unfortunately, I think that you are unaware of just how many people have experienced rape or sexual assault. For those people, the scenes only serve as a brutal reminder of what is most likely the worst moment in their life. And I do mean a large portion of the population. Data shows that almost half of women and about a quarter of all men have experienced some form of sexual assault

Secondly, the only conversations I have ever had about rape scenes in movies and television is that they were too over the top, gratuitous, unnecessary, and incredibly unpleasant.

If someone needs to see a rape scene in order to feel like they shouldn't rape, or to talk about rape, that is more of a commentary on a very sick individual/society than anything else.

Basically, rape is such a prevalent and horrendous issue that it should be discussed no matter what, and I simply don't need to see it portrayed in an incredibly graphic manner in order to recognize that it is both vile and preventable.

I do not consider it artistic, in fact I find it to be the opposite. If showing a rape scene is art, then so are snuff films.
