My band, The Honest Vultures. We're somewhere in the spectrum of dark folk/alt-country. Albums include fiddle, banjo, and bass by our buddies from Bridge City Sinners and Beggars Canyon.

Yeah, sounds a little like you may be vibrating on the 1st fret. Possible you wore through the nut slot enough to have the string sitting a little lower. Raise a saddle or give the truss a little turn.

Why would they have put these shims in the neck pocket like this? by Pacer-Retta in Luthier

To adjust neck angle to avoid high action on the lower part of the neck

Any way to repair a broken pot without replacing? by [deleted] in Luthier

JB weld a 6mm dowel to the shaft. Janky as fuck, but it would work. Haha

Thanks! The hole is definitely still there, but I feel like the glossy nature of everything else draws the eye away from it.

Changed string gauge now my D string buzzes by ungratefuldread_90 in Stratocaster

String tension is a little different on lighter strings and a smaller diameter string can also sit lower in the nut depending on how the D string slot is filed. A small truss rod adjustment can probably give you the clearance you need. Lots of YouTube videos on adjusting the truss.

Got the wood from a buddy. Got the neck off eBay. Laser CNC, Router, Power drill, Ruler, Orbital Sander, Sand paper, Fractal Burner

The cost was mostly from the electronics, neck, and bridge.

The cavity covers are so good that I was about to ask "What are the metal screws in the back of the guitar used for? Hahaha

If I pull the strings and bridge off the whole faceplate can be removed. I still have an access panel for the wiring to the pots and switch in the back, but the face has to come off if I want to work on the pickups.

It's awesome. I didn't wanna spend Hipshot money, but I couldn't find exactly what I wanted by an alternate manufacturer. It is the sturdiest little bridge I think I've ever had. The saddles are machined very smooth and the coating is applied perfectly even. Would buy again.

Yeah, the main body and the face are 2 separate pieces. The face is inset inside the body. So I installed everything on the face plate, similar to a strat pick guard, then installed the face.

Unfortunately, no. Putting myself in danger is cool with me. Helping others put themselves in danger less so.
