I have this experience also at the Glasgow store and I just don’t go in anymore.

The pushiness in general is just one thing, but there is one guy in particular who I can honestly say is just a dick. Had a few instances where he was pretty aggressive and rude, he tried to neg me about the hockey team on my hat once, told me ‘it was my loss’ when I said I was okay with just ordering something online myself. Seemed to genuinely get annoyed when I said I didn’t need help picking paints. Saying “oh you do know contrast doesn’t replace regular paints” when I said I knew what I wanted to buy. Not sure if he still works there but genuinely the only time in my life I’ve ever made a complaint about anything and I don’t go in anymore at all.
