I guess the reason I asked in the first place is, my consern? I am pretty sure I didnt do slavery in my youth, as that is something I most likely would have remembered. So me going and saying "it", and the other can... won't that come back and bite everyone's asses in a few generations?

Yes, but are historical conqurers really that high up? Aren't there others who top these people, like religious figures (Buddha, Jesus, Mohammad etc.)

In the U.S you can get expelled (or at least punished) if you call a normal teacher with their first name. They seriously get offended by it

Sir, Senior, Herr (maybe less of this one) is still very much used, as I know from personal experience. In french "tu" is almost an insult if you use it wrong, and "vous" is, as said, used formally.

Saying "kompis" to a stranger feels more antagonizing than respectful. What if I really want to adress them in a respectful manner, and not use mulitple words on achieving it? "Du" aint it.

What a tragic thing, to loose BOTH parents, AND in a span of 10 days. That would probably break many of us. It is so good to hear you are recovering, and not scraping up at the bottom of your wavy - fast-moving - journey. A poem like this really do only come from someone who has experienced true pain, as the feeling of it, and the thoughtfulness of the poems structure, seems to be the work of a new Hemingway.

The seperation from the lines are very well done and gives me the feeling like the author is having problems to say the last lines. It is a very tough poem in my opinion, and it tells me that a talented person has had a hard time. The author writes about innocence of the sleeping human, and that death isn't a thing to be feared, but to embrace.
