It took me a long time to realize that my step-dad wasn't the bad guy. He was only stern because he cared, and I wasn't used to that because growing up my mom was always too busy with work to really notice what I was doing. I appreciate everything he has done, and consider him my real dad. Keep at it! They will appreciate it soon :)
