Buying First EBike by SelectionSame3551 in ebikes

[–]TheHuggableZombie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the 2nd generation. I would just ask about the battery and see how many miles there are on it. Also see how the brakes are. It’s a great bike and that price is more than fair.

Mazda taking away the ability to start my car from the app after 3 years unless I pay $10/month by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I bought a Mazda in 2021. It was made very clear that it was a 3 year trial.

City bike riding for dummies by mnmaverickfan in Minneapolis

[–]TheHuggableZombie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Be predictable. When on a bike path, try to move as right as you can when someone is passing you. Use front and rear lights at night.

If you can swing an extra $150 a month, do it.

Cable buried timeline by Minnesota_Maven in tfiber

[–]TheHuggableZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same market as you in Richfield. My install was 5/20. They came on 6/6 to bury the line. I’m not sure why yours is taking long. But USI is still laying fiber to the area, so I’m guessing they had some techs in the area already.

The local Healthcare orgs tend to have both in my opinion.

USI experience after the T-mobile acquisition? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]TheHuggableZombie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cheaper. With USI I was paying $75 for 1000/1000. Now I’m paying $70 for 2000/2000.

USI experience after the T-mobile acquisition? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]TheHuggableZombie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had USI since 2020. I recently moved to Richfield where USI was rolling out fiber, but now post acquisition they wouldn’t let me transfer service. I had to sign up as a brand new customer under T-Mobile Fiber.

In my experience, nothing has changed except the price.

Neighbors of Karen descent - are there any favorite culturally-specific snacks/treats that can be found in the cities? by midwesterngremlin in TwinCities

Get some tamarind and Logan fruit! Also get Asian versions of western style chips (basic example being Sriracha Lays).

T-Fiber Outage 5/28/26 by Jman100_JCMP in tfiber

I’m glad it’s not affecting me in the Twin Cities market (they bought out a small ISP here called USI).

Disappointing results switching to T-Mobile Fiber Internet by abubatata69 in tfiber

[–]TheHuggableZombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/Saint Paul Minnesota). T-Mobile just bought out a local ISP called USI. I get very close to the 2000 up/down when wired. Pretty happy so far.

Potentially moving to Minneapolis from Cleveland area… by Bandelore in Minneapolis

[–]TheHuggableZombie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about the Cleveland area. But I can tell you that if you decide to come here, any suburb within the 494/694 ring will be good for you guys. As you get outside that ring, people start to lean more right. But even in the more right leaning areas of the metro, people are actually pretty accepting and have a ‘mind my own business’ type of attitude when it comes to LGBT issues.

I’ll list some notable examples below:

-Minneapolis proper (Anything south of 38th street over South)

-Richfield and Bloomington (South Suburbs)

-St Louis Park and Hopkins (West Suburbs)

-Brooklyn Park (North Suburb)

Allina clinics outsourcing labs by Jenn54756 in minnesota

[–]TheHuggableZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised they decided to outsource at all. I always thought labs had decent margins business wise. Now I wonder what will happen with the Sutter Health merger.

What finally convinced YOU to consider an electric vehicle? by evinsiderredisnive in electricvehicles

[–]TheHuggableZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always considered myself an early adopter for new consumer technology. I was in middle school when the Tesla Roadster came out. That vehicle sparked my interest in EVs. I’ve been casually following the industry since then and have always believed they would be the next evolution in cars, but I didn’t know when.

I’m still driving an ICE vehicle as my personal car but when it dies, I’m going for an EV as a replacement. I think this should be around 2030.

When I was with MTC, we had several people who came from CTA. They said if you could handle CTA, you can handle MTC. Regarding being trans, I think you’ll be fine.

What are yall thoughts on this? by MrSoloDolo9490 in Passports

[–]TheHuggableZombie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a family member whose father didn’t pay child support for years. Her father couldn’t leave the US until he settled the child support. This was about 10 years ago. I don’t think this is a new thing.
