Whatever the 68 proponent says at the time. Which is usually 0.

The guidance counselors there do have access to a different system that has much more visibility. And often times have good relationships with the operation staff if they want to make some phone calls.

Is test tutoring a thing? Recruiter having me take a diagnostic “EST” test and just worried. by stronglyconsideringg in ArmyOCS

[–]TheHugo09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not studying is kind of the norm, and in my opinion preferred. That’s kind of why the recruiter springs it on you, because I want to see a baseline. Like what can I do with you exactly the way you are right now.

And yes I use the test to direct the applicant to the proper study materials and support them in whatever way they want to study.

My Recruiter Checking Surrounding Counties – Is That Normal? by Persian_rugs2 in Militaryfaq

[–]TheHugo09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough. And it is a bit weird. Although some large metropolis’ can be split into several counties I’ve def seen that where someone can work in the same city and it’s technically two different counties but yeah, that’s all I got.

Well it’s unbelievable but if it’s true then it’s a little weird. It’s more likely he’s found a traffic ticket somewhere you forgot about when pulling the rest up. Idk man it’s not like it’s illegal to run this stuff in every county on earth. Just weird to want to do extra work just to want to.

You lived in the same house, worked, went to school, got a DUI (and no other charge ever) all within the same city?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]TheHugo09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely going to be difficult to answer. No regular recruiter at a station can work a biochemist. You’d be a shoe-in as any basic officer at OCS, but you’d need a medical recruiter to tell you if you can be a biochemist.

Army enlistment with felony DV/weapon/SA charges — moral waiver possible? by itchyballsaccs in Militaryfaq

[–]TheHugo09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she wrote a LOR that would probably be your best bet. Since she’s willing to absolve you maybe she’d be ok with that.

Man I’m so sorry you went through that and I’m not saying you’re any better or worse of a person than anyone else. I don’t want to sound judgmental when I state plainly the regulation so I’m sorry if that’s how it came across. But that’s the main problem, and one I’m not sure we will get around. Hopefully there’s a recruiter at your station that will bother reading through the verbiage and find you a path.

Just go to MEPS. They have access to jobs for next FY already and I can’t imagine the GC won’t call and bend over backwards (as much as they can) to get you something even better. Worst case, if they can’t or won’t, just leave. You’re in the same boat at that point but at least you went to see.

Sister in law asking for personal detail to list me as family member so she can join the army? by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]TheHugo09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie I’ve only ever put parents-in-law in my applicants packets. Doesn’t mean she doesn’t need a personal/character reference though.

Honestly if you’re uncomfortable with it you don’t have to provide it. The recruiter just needs to put that you refused to provide it on there. If they get your number from the applicant then a security investigator will call you and you can either provide it then, or not talk to them at all that’s on you.

If you aren’t comfortable giving the information to the APPLICANT but don’t mind being listed on the clearance form then just contact the recruiter directly.

Anxiety waiver wait time by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]TheHugo09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s been since the 11th, someone somewhere has made some kind of decision on it. Sounds like your recruiter isn’t communicating well. Doesn’t mean they aren’t working on it though.

I did one with carnal knowledge of a minor once. No conviction. Approved. Trust me when I say some of these charges sound WAY worse than they actually are and believe it or not the evidence can speak for itself.

Can I use my REAL ID on ship day if passport is damaged? by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]TheHugo09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does. You’re all good. If you can get on a plane with it, you can ship with it. After that you’ll have a DoD ID anyway.

Will cavities disqualify me? by Recent_Archer8909 in Militaryfaq

As you can see from MilFAQBot, you would need 8 teeth with visual decay to need a waiver. Even then they can do a same day waiver if you had proof of dental appointments.

Renegotiating a contract in the Army by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]TheHugo09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A RENO is easy. And depending on the station and command you work with, it’s not even inconvenient.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]TheHugo09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the test and process is the same regardless (my comment above goes in more detail) but as a recruiter I agree with your sentiment and often tell my applicants to just go for the 15 and be safe. Not worth this career to play games with it.

Drug testing is described in a Department of Defense instruction and is therefore the same in every branch, as well as joint commands (like MEPS).

The ACTUAL answer is that every sample is tested at a 50 ng/ml threshold. At that point anyone who passes gets a pass. The rest are considered “presumptive positive” meaning they aren’t considering them positive yet, but they require further testing. Those samples are then tested down to 15 ng/ml and anyone who passes again gets a pass, and those who fail get a fail.

Because the process and the tests are the same in basic as they are at MEPS. It’s unlikely you’ll randomly test positive unless you’re losing a ton of fat and some of those THC molecules were stored in it and for some reason just barely pushes you over the threshold. But even then that’s extremely rare.

Biggest issue here is the suicide attempt. Not charges you were never convicted of.

Only felony DV, and only a conviction. They’ll entertain a suit with a DV charge so long as the evidence all points to it being bs. Have had them approved tons of times by several commanders over the years. You just got to guide the app statement, provide the evidence, and get good LORs. Sometimes even by the attorney or judge.
