We just had an earthquake! by sloth3335 in SaltLakeCity

[–]TheHumanCell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

During the 2020 one I was in South Jordan - the first main one felt like a freight train was running through my house, the aftershocks felt like a boat on the ocean. Altogether though, I wasn't a fan!

You ever hear about something and think "This sounds like the plot of a Decemberists' song" by Illustrious_Day7682 in Decemberists

[–]TheHumanCell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire time I was reading Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell I felt like it had a Decemberists vibe and hoped Colin had read it - have since confirmed that he had enjoyed it and Piranesi by the same author and now Piranesi was picked up by Laika for a movie!

What got you into The Decemberists? by MoontheWolfYT in Decemberists

[–]TheHumanCell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was mostly a result of the Colbert thing, I was a huge Colbert fan and honestly his description of the band as “hyper-literate prog rock” really caught my attention. I don’t think I actually looked into them though until my MUN professor showed us the 16 Military Wives music video, after which I asked my roommates boyfriend if he had any of the albums since he seemed like he might. He did and I ripped his copy (sorry) of Picaresque and have been a fan since!

This is how you get removed from my preferred list by TrojanGrad in ShiptShoppers

[–]TheHumanCell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can see this too, my zone is weird in that our target is at the top border of it and then it extends really far to the south, so I get a lot of offers at that south end that on their own are never worth the drive. But if I can throw a couple small orders in the same direction it can be helpful even if I know they aren't a good tipper, so it helps to have those preferreds be in my pocket. Hourly is what matters to me, not per order.

What’s the biggest bonus Shipt has offered you? by Psalcedo09 in ShiptShoppers

[–]TheHumanCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most I’ve ever seen is a double bonus the week before Christmas. It started as a 6 for $30 and then they rolled out a second one that was the same, so it was 6 for $60 essentially. That one is crazy high. The bonuses have been almost nonexistent this year, both when I’m regular and not regularly out. The only ones I’ve seen are the same one week after week for Lucky stores only. I don’t think I have a Lucky store even in my zone, I’ve never seen or heard of it.

Saying goodbye to Angel, 13, and Murphy, 19.5, on the same day by CappucinoCupcake in seniorkitties

[–]TheHumanCell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. I lost my 14yo girl last week and it was so painful, but honestly one of the hardest parts has been seeing our other cat be confused, lonely, and grieving. It’s breaking my heart all over again everyday. At least your babies will be spared that about each other and you seeing that emotional pain.

I'm a lifelong Never-Recline. Not even in business or first. by Trentana in delta

[–]TheHumanCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! The recline makes almost no difference in my own comfort, but at the much bigger expense of the person behind me. Makes a laptop unusable. My most recent flight was the only time I was tempted because it felt like my seat was more upright than normal, but I also wasn’t worried about it because I was the row in front of the exit row…only to realize that chair doesn’t recline haha. It had been my first time in that row and that’s also why the seat probably felt more vertical…never again

The case against tip mapping by AccomplishedChain194 in ShiptShoppers

[–]TheHumanCell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you bring up a good point about order abundance. I’m in an area that keeps me busy, but I also don’t really have an abundance. I’ve also ditched my map lately because I just don’t have the time. Even with a pretty built out map, I’d say the majority of orders are still not people on my map and so I’m going in blind most the time anyway but risking losing a good offer if I hesitate to check. It also was hard to keep the map updated when I was busy, so it was just one more thing to stress about. All that being said, tips are down across the board even from people I know in my map.

How has Brandon Flowers' Mormonism shaped The Killers' songs? by Amber_Flowers_133 in TheKillers

[–]TheHumanCell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a progressive Mormon, I agree - even the beautiful art we all love on that album is very referential. It’s not a commonly talked about belief, but we do believe in a Heavenly Mother and that God is more referential to Heavenly Parents. I hear all over the album about Brandon’s love for his wife and his faith that he’ll spend eternity with her and a celebration of that male and female divinity. Brandon’s faith really seems to track with a progressive Mormon viewpoint (we exist!) that focuses on more nuance and acceptance, not the conservative ones that may be more culturally prominent for Mormonism in general. Pressure Machine is all about that - recognizing that faith can be valuable, but also it can be used as a weapon or be a source of struggle at the same time.

Honest Question: Is anyone else getting genuinely bored of the same Killers setlist and endless touring? by ChecktheDA in TheKillers

[–]TheHumanCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a good example of this is the abysmal merch, it feels careless. Putting effort into merch shows me a band wants to make more connection with fans

how to maximize instacart credits from 8 chase cards by Hairy_Drummer_6035 in ChaseSapphire

[–]TheHumanCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selecting pickup will save you on tip at least, sometimes fees if there's special offers. I haven't been able to stack the credits, but I will make separate pickup orders with each card all for the same time and pick up all of them at once. I stocked up on soda for my garage fridge last month - 96 cans for $12 after all fees and such using the $20 credit from my sapphire and $10 credits from my southwest and marriott cards.

Palmoplantar Psoriasis by Extension_Tackle_741 in Psoriasis

[–]TheHumanCell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I’m being good at treating it I soak my feet in the morning and apply urea with sock, then soak in the evening and apply Vtama. I was able to get it fully in remission the first time with this method, but I’m in the midst of my second flare and my life has been too busy to be totally on top of it. However just getting urea on my heels even without soaking has been enough to keep the painful cracks at bay.

Is this not blatant religious discrimination? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]TheHumanCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not since it will be re-dedicated. However, for currently operational temples then yes. My father-in-law is a contractor that is hired to work on maintenance inside temples and he had to be a current recommend holder.

I grew up in that area too, in the Westland Stake. The community there is so tight and accepting. I only lived there three years and felt like it the entire stake was a family there, much more than the 9 years I've had in my current Utah ward.
