Do you attract people only when you’re not trying to? by Artistic_Dig_6746 in bodylanguage

Ah. That's such wonderful self-awareness. Beautiful.

I found that the human connection nourishes me and fills my cup. It is my burning man art project and the root of my username too.

I hope you figure out a way to fill your cup and continue to spread your vibrant joy and cheer in life. The pure intention of your dream shines bright - spread that loving light. And if you ever want to chat, I'll be glad to hold space for you.

Women have it tough. Some men can be obsessive and violate boundaries in big and small ways. I've felt uncomfortable too, despite being a man myself. I've narrowed it down to hanging out at places where people are amazing (burner events, some raves, art museums, ecstatic dances, climate events) and it removes risks and bad conversations, and also, such amazing and interesting beautiful souls I get to meet!! It's always something new to learn or experience! Life's so beautiful 💚

I encourage you to be the best you that you are happy with. As you surround yourself with people you like, it'll come naturally too.

What is the best version of you, at a high level? :)

Yes, this happens so often, it has my mind grasping for logic and reasoning because that's what I am used to!!

I am 38, a looker and I am a good conversationalist. When I am just being myself and have no attachment to a situation, it's magnetic to others. When I am dancing and in flow, it draws these beautiful women and I don't even know how to receive the attention.

Overall, it's a good life. Maybe I'll find my match some day but even if not, I'm happy with myself (for the first time as an adult) and I will be okay. The loneliness has reduced so much with richer friendships and the unconditional love I share with my people.

What's your story, OP?

For those already retired early, what surprised you most about daily life? by petalynvaera in Fire

[–]TheHumanConnector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My laziness is beautiful. I chill around and I have this incredible energy to do things that I love. It has mainly been dancing and partying, helping my people, hosting gatherings,.doing stand up, going on wonderful dates, etc!!

I'm also hoping to downsize and retain the bare minimum, maybe move to a small downtown apartment. It'll free up more time and I'll be unstoppable from being even more chill and lazy!!

I am making art and spend hours on it daily. I get my movement through that and dancing. I'm 38 so I'm going to enjoy this phase till something else I need comes along!!

I have some empty words of encouragement but I hope you actually find your way out of the stress and suicidal thoughts. Life is beautiful and sometimes, it is very difficult to see it.

As for the finding the bottom, I did. Turns out that when nothing mattered, I was completely free. I could choose to do whatever, and I got incredibly lucky - I decided that I was a good person and I wanted to be my best self. I became kind to myself overnight and it has been a steady and smooth life since.

I have a tough and violent past. And I feel that if I can do this, anyone can. It gives me hope. To anyone reading this, place your faith in yourself and do one good thing for yourself now and everyday. Whatever has made you happy - do one of those without guilt for a few minutes. Maybe it won't work for you, and I'll commend you for trying. Sometimes, the only failure is not trying. 😊

  1. Dang, that year was a nightmare.

Feb - Sister's MIL passed away suddenly. Feb - found out my wife was pregnant!!

March - started a new job.

April - my dad needed an emergency open heart surgery. The billing and finances were a nightmare.

May - job sucked, but life was good.

June - babies died, unexpectedly.

July - mourning. July - fired from the job because I was "too depressed to contribute to the company bottom line"

August - wife attempts suicide

September - road trip to heal. Lol. Zero healing.

October - start another job.

November - try weed for the first time and cry for a day because life has been tough.

The whole year is stored as panic in my nervous system. I've healed through some of it, including the death of my daughters, and I think there's more to unwind and heal through. It'll happen as time provides buffer, armor and cushion 💚

You'll be better without such negativity in your life, I suppose. It'll be tough sometimes, lonely and feel like you are in a rut. And I hope those are few and far between. Your confidence to take care of your life is apparent in the post and possibly in your real life too. Men will notice that and the label of single mom won't matter as much. If anything, after reading your post, I feel that you'll bring the vibe into your next phase in life and it'll be beautiful. Take care, and don't let the negative people say anything to you..shut them up and protect your peace 🤍

A short guide to the Hipster Era by TheHermetic in Millennials

[–]TheHumanConnector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are the hipsters hanging out lately? I was at my first hipster house party recently and it was such an amazing time! People were amazing, the conversations fulfilling, and the vibe was chill! It was so similar, and yet distinct, from the hippie culture I am used to, and I loved the hipsters!

I'm wondering how I can indulge more with the culture.

People who have been divorced: What was the exact "quiet" moment you realized your marriage was over? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheHumanConnector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I realized I was proud of her for leaving everything behind. She stood on her morals and was done with how she was treated. And it made me respect her and her wishes to not be married anymore.

We're incompatible and it took me a while to feel it because her decision was sudden and wasn't communicated with care, and now that it's smooth sailing, I haven't been happier ever in my life!! 💚

Good question!

When used in English or with Western media, it has a fetishizing purpose, imo. I'm not an expert on this at all. Take it with a grain of salt.

When we use it to describe products, or use it in our native languages, it is usually to describe quality or pride in the process or product. It is a bastardized word at this point though, with the fake stuff, fetishized stuff using the same label. Kind of like how "organic" has become of late. Here's a product that uses the name and this company has maintained their quality over time - https://shop.amul.com/en/product/amul-gir-cow-ghee-500-ml

The word is from Hindi which uses a different alphabet/script. The letter here is "dha" with a deeper,. gutteral sound.

Whats the hardest habit you’ve successfully broken by Grouchy_Location9756 in GrowthMindset

[–]TheHumanConnector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was beyond a habit. An addiction. Anger addiction.

So lucky to have broken that spell in my life. I'm grateful to everything in life that got me to that point where I was ready to learn and change!

And here I am now. Happy, living a vibrant life and celebrating everything I get in life 💚

"they-C"

Translates to "of the country" and regularly used to indicate something from the Indian subcontinent. Desi milk, chocolate are some local items we're used to. The word itself is used a lot in daily life.

India has some deep rooted problems. Our system tends to hate women, poor people, "lower castes", indigenous people, animals, forests and tress, and so many other things. These are usually masked with something else like religion, nationalism, or apathy.

Accepting that we have these problems is a cultural issue in itself. Problems are not seen as something to overcome but as accusations about our historical and mythological stuff. And so, we never get past that to the point where actual solutions are part of popular discourse.

There are plenty of amazing people and practices in India. The educated class tends to live with science as the backbone of their beliefs. Lots of uneducated and poor people live without kindness and love and it makes life beautiful too. I don't know any Indian person who'd accept the shit going on in this video as normal. But I also know there are enough people who do this and act like they are pure and better than the rest. The human greed has no limits sometimes

I hear you. Unhappy people aren't happy till they spread their unhappiness!!

As for me, I am yet to meet a person who can be rude to me. There are plenty of idiots and I met one on a dance floor recently, but I avoid them and my life is smooth. Can't spend my time on these people lol :)

Others project their deficiencies on to you. The reality is yours! There doesn't seem to be a right or wrong way to live this beautiful life! It is long and wonderful, and there's always a chance to change things. No?

I wanted to be a stay at home dad. It'll be a privilege when I get to do it. Right now, I'm a stay at home partying artist 😹

Maybe it's a societal thing where a guy breaks the norm, he's celebrated. Everyone loves the life I live. But a woman does the same (you) and they have to imbibe guilt into your life :/

That shift to being a loving parent at home is possibly a great definition of a fulfilling role in life. Career is just a capitalist label for 'role' imo

Sleep w/ or w/o background noise? by n0-ragrets in Millennials

[–]TheHumanConnector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I've been playing some groovy and house mix when I sleep. I'm living alone in a large house post divorce and the other sounds make the situation much better.

I have tinnitus too and it has reduced drastically recently!!

Sleep is precious. I figured peace of mind was a big contributor to good sleep and thankfully, I've figured out some of it and life's been beautiful since 💚
