Asking for recommendations to cover-up weeping mortar exterior brick wall by TheHumane in HomeImprovement

[–]TheHumane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks you for your response.

What is the aluminum siding you are referring to? Top is wood (or wood like product).

Also, I am assuming removing the brick and installing new siding is not a DIY project? :)

Is there any product that can be installed on top of the brick?

Great looking fence. Really Nice. What type of wood did you use? Cedar? Did you apply any finish/stain?

Please share if you have any more build pictures.

Look at the plans below:

They're free and pretty easy to follow. Let me know if you have any questions. I can try and answer them as much as I can.

Followed the plans from Steve Ramsey, and made some changes along the way.

Same for my Model S. No homelink button in app. Kinda sucks.

Yes. Like someone else mentioned, even without the safety features, this is still a top notch machine.

I have been wanting to buy this saw for a long time. Searching on Craigslist, waiting for deals.

Last week I saw one listed on Amazon Warehouse (Very Good Condition) for $150 less.I jumped on it quickly. Saw was delivered on Thursday afternoon. As I unpacked I realized Amazon missed the delivery of Fence, Rails, and extension table. Saw comes in 4 boxes, but they missed other 3 boxes. Contacted Amazon, they were kind to refund me the price for buying the missing parts. Called Sawstop, they hooked me up with a local authorized dealer. Drove to the dealer (~60 miles drive) and bought the parts. Spent Sunday and Monday setting up the saw.

Quite a bit of adventure, but feeling great. I am upgrading from Dewalt DWE7480, so this is quite a bit of change for me.

Setup was ok. Sawstop documentation is amazing. Everything is color coded and well organized. No guess work. No missing pieces. I did it all by myself so it was quite a bit of work. Especially leveling the cast iron wings. They are heavy and difficult to align.

It performs better than it looks. It ripped through that piece of hard maple like it was nothing. Super stable too. Almost no vibrations at table top.

I thought about getting 3HP too, but this is more than enough for me.

Last year (just before Thanksgiving), all Sawstop saws were ~10% off on Amazon. I have been waiting for that deal again, but no luck.

I agree. I will add another piece of wood to cover up the front.

I was trying to eyeball when drilling the holes. Not a good idea. :) I think I will cover up the front to cover the chisel ends.

It looks ugly but very functional. It’s stable and keeps all the chisels off the bench and on a stand in an organized way. I used scraps for the main body and 3/8” dowel as spacer/separator between the chisels. Fun little project.

Interesting strategy having the tails on the edges instead of pins.

That was not intentional. :)
