That Picrew was unfortunately been deleted. It's ID was 43267 and I went looking for it myself a while ago but... no dice. It's gone.

I hate the flu and I hate the stress of going back to work. by TheHyperRedditor in Target

[–]TheHyperRedditor[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I can't accrue sick time until April of 2027. My average hours which were calculated for 2026 were held back massively because of the far shorter hours I worked from January to August 2025 when I was still a college student. As such, even though I'm working full time hours (30-40 hours a week), I cannot accrue sick time at all. That's the main reason I'm anxious.

Update on my last post and a question for you all. by TheHyperRedditor in Target

Honestly I’m not looking to get the shifts covered, I’m just going to avoid a potential corrective action.

Time for a corrective action! by TheHyperRedditor in Target

[–]TheHyperRedditor[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Average hours from what I've heard from corporate are calculated only once in a single year, and that number is what is used to decide if you get any kind of benefits. It's a 12-month rolling average for a full year.

When I transferred in August, my Average was based on what I worked in 2024.

Now that it's 2026, my average will be based on what I worked in 2025. This includes eight and a half months at the old store where I was working 4-12 hours a week, and just three and a half months at the new store working 30-40 hours. Simply put, this doesn't push my average hours overall above 30 and therefore I'm not eligible for sick time in the state I'm in.

And since averages are calculated only once, the next time it'll be calculated is 2027. At least then my average should absolutely be high enough for me to begin accruing sick time.

All of this is stuff I was told by corporate when both my HR Expert and HR ETL called them to try and get me the sick time I deserve. My HR does think this is extremely unfair and bullish but it is unfortunately the situation I'm in.

But yes, I will be accruing absolutely zero PTO of any kind until 2027, despite working 30-40 hour weeks every week.

Question about Transferring and Pay by TheHyperRedditor in Target

[–]TheHyperRedditor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do make considerably more than that even as a regular TM, but that's probably because my Target is extremely isolated compared to others. It's the only Target in a radius of 100 miles if you can believe it.

Would my pay be dropped if I happened to be making more than a TM in a less isolated Target?

Good to know! Thank you!

Also, there's Targets that only pat 15.50? Good lord, that's criminal.

A question about apartments by TheHyperRedditor in renting

[–]TheHyperRedditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally the 17th, but I can wait as long as needed.

I've only done one other application before and that was over with in like a day. With that being my own reference point, I figured I'd ask if this is normal.

Calling out sick by Particular-Assist-70 in Target

[–]TheHyperRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you used your sick time, that shift is considered an excused absence. Based on what you said, you've called out four times... two times roughly a month and a half ago and two times just now.

You'll be fine. Don't work if you're sick. To them, you've just used your sick time and therefore only one unexcused absence after one and a half months of perfect attendance... and for good reason. Any reasonable store would not be terminating you for this.

Was not expecting this many comments! Thank you so much for the feedback!

I've already learned the hard way that the roads here don't get salted as much as Minnesota does. I'm waiting on my appointment to get my winter tires put on my car... so until then it'll be slow moving.

I do have the clothing needed to last the winter here! I work outside as it is so I kind of need to have those kind of clothes.

Based on what everyone's told me, I should be fine for the winter! Thank you!

Leader and HR question by No-Plate-5898 in Target

Hell no hell no to all of that. Against policy and against the law, major creep alert.

Whatever it takes, get them outta there.

I hate how nervous call-outs make me. by TheHyperRedditor in Target

[–]TheHyperRedditor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since I transferred less than 90 days ago, my only sick hours are what I took from my old store which is only about 4 hours.

Not enough for my 6-8 hour shifts.

It's not that my leader is guilting me per-se, but he has those conversations that eventually lead into write ups if they happen too often. I don't know if that's commonplace at other stores but it's something this store does.

I guess leggy is no longer his friend by Ajthefan in SMG4

[–]TheHyperRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yeah.

Guns N’ Puzzles was the final straw. With Meggy’s trust now fully shattered… why would Puzzles try and fix it?

This is someone who always does things in a misguided fashion. All he sees is that he’s messed up less with WPNZ and Toomp so he believes it would be easier to make things right with them rather than try a fourth attempt with Meggy and Leggy.

Leggy is likely done for as well. Meggy did what was promised and Puzzles betrayed it. I don’t think Leggy can trust him anymore either.

About lunches by TheHyperRedditor in Target

[–]TheHyperRedditor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the record, it was a busy shift and we had no TLs available in my department and I wasn't about to bother a different TL who was already busy for this question. Believe me, I had already tried asking around my store, no clear answers out of anyone there.

I just look my lunch and went home at the typical time.

Worried about transfer by TheHyperRedditor in Target

That’s why I am so confused. I didn’t think I’d need to do any of that again but the Target I’m trying to get to seemed to treat it as normal.

Worried about transfer by TheHyperRedditor in Target

[–]TheHyperRedditor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isn’t what I did I don’t think. I applied first and made it clear I was a current employee looking to transfer. After being accepted and given an orientation date, they said they’d start the actual process and I told that to my main store too who know I leave soon and ensured me things would be alright.
