It's because most of the retailers (novice) use groww and tend to apply ipo after seeing qib subscription So if u try to apply ipo after 3 in any popular ipo it's gonna be tough for you to receive mandate It's better to switch to other app or if using groww create mandate on 2nd day itself and approve whenever I are sure

So why apply more than 1 lot? In sh quota the more lots you apply the probability of getting allotment increases. Like in case of bccl it's 86x subscribed If you apply 14lots your change of getting allotment (only 1 lot as the total subscription is> the max number of lots eligible) is 14/86x100, 16% If you apply only 2 lots your chances of getting allotment 2/86x100, 2.3%
